Hello guys
the other day I had my seat replaced under factory warranty..
they replaced the bottom part due to a leather problem and bolster on my driver seat.
when they installed the seat, they installed the new one on the passenger seat (mistake).. so they had to reinstall the passenger seat and take the new one to put it back on the driver seat, I noticed that on the passenger seat, the bolster almost at the end in the corner very close to the silver plate you can feel the metals inside, is this ok or normal ? because the passenger feels with cushion.. any one that might noticed this maybe its normal and it was like that before, since I inspeceted the seat I noticed this...
thanks
Simply take it back to the dealer and point out your concerns.
thanks for the sugestion, I think I'll wait for my yearly service.. here are some pics of the old and new seat and also the bolster that feels like no cushion
Before, after and bolster
They clearly don't look right, in fact I probably wouldn't have accepted it.
the drivers side looks ok for me, I don't know why on the passenger I am having that ugly look, like I said its ok im just a little concerned if on the future since it doesnt have the cushion inside can ripe off, I didn't pay atention before as my problem was on my driver side, since they took out my passenger seat, I noticed this at home when I was looking for any defects and inspecting better the car
I wonder how common this seat problem is? My driver's seat has developed excess play directly in the middle of the cushion, as if someone large sat in it and stretched it out.
You can push down about 1.5 inches before it hits the foam.
I'm 165 lbs as was the last owner. 23k miles
Has anyone else besides the original poster has this issue?
Are you sure you didn't have one of those 'moments' under late braking?
man thats a lot, are you under warranty ??
2007, Still under warranty, just wondering if this has happened to many others.
The only thing I can think of that might have encouraged this is driving directly after a run when when I'm all sweaty. I guess it could cause the leather to stretch, but it never did in any other vehicles I've had....
I had some marks on mine... but I don't think sweaty cause that... or unless your leather is defective, I also have a ford king ranch 07 and till now the leather looks very nice, better quality and I think is more delicate then the cayman leather, after work I am always sweaty and full of dust and leather looks good..
do you have some pics?
you need to go to your dealer and have them look at your seat..I think they will replace the bottom if it looks that bad..
