I checked the fuse and it was ok, probably a motor failure then...Is there any way to lower it by hand without any electronics?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi, I was driving on the highway the other day when my rear spoiler stopped working and the message "Spoiler Control Failure" appeard on the dash. Apparently the spoiler got stuck in the up position and did not lower itself when the speed went down. When trying to operate the spoiler manually the orange light on the button lights up, indicating the spoiler is in the up position. When holding the button to lower it nothing happens and there's no sound coming from the spoiler assembly. Anyone here experienced the same problem? Any help or advice is appreciated! Thanks,

POST 2Original post

If it's under warranty (or not) take it into the dealer and have them look at it. My guess is a blown fuse or a motor failure - either way, a quick hook-up to the computer should tell them very quickly what's wrong. brad

POST 3Original post

I'll be at my dealership tomorrow to pick up my car. They were working on a car with the spoiler in the up position. I'll try to remember to ask what the problem was and post it here.

POST 4Original post

Thanks Alan, that would be great. I checked the fuse and it was ok, probably a motor failure then...Is there any way to lower it by hand without any electronics? Maybe that will get it moving again.
