Another issue was the oil pump made a horrendous noise as the car was warmed up and finally I had to have a cannister replaced because the check engine light kept coming on..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

On my 2006 CS with 6000 miles, whenever I depress the clutch it squeaks.
The dealer replaced the clutch slave and now it squeaks more and louder.
Any suggestions?
Probably needs to be lubricated... I'm surprised the dealer didn't when the car was in the shop. I doubt it has anything to do with the actual operation of the clutch - just the pedal travel mechanism needs some lubrication.

I will take your advise and talk to the dealer about lubing. The squeak is loud enough that you can hear it over the radio when shifting into first and barely audible after that.
That's very weird - if it really is that loud, and is really that different when shifting into first, as opposed to the other gears, then if it was me, I'd take it back to the dealer - maybe they didn't get it put back together correctly or something... that's weird... do it under warranty, that way if something else related goes wrong, they already have it on record as a previous issue. If it turns out to need a couple of drops of lube, then that's good, too.

I am sure the squeak is there in second gear and up but the engine drowns it out. Thanks for the good advise. I will stick with the dealer. This is my 5th
Porsche
so I am use to multiple visits for fix. I was just hoping that some else had the same issue before.
I am open to any solutions so when I go back to the dealer they can check all of them at one time.
No prob - Like Santa Fe said, I've heard of this on here a couple of times before too, and it's always been a couple of drops of lubrication that fixes it.
Good luck - Please report back what the heck it turned out to be.

I just developed the same squeak you mention after 24000 miles, I suspect it just requires lubrication and will bring it to the dealers attention when I
next
get it serviced.
I have a clutch pedal squeak, too. Mentioned it to dealer during visit for
master cylinder
replacement (!) but still present. I'll wait and try again on
next
trip for whatever warranty issues arise; I'm sure there will be some.
Remember that you must depress the clutch pedal in order to start the engine? That's what that switch is for. They are cheaper, simpler and more reliable vs. detecting if the transmission is fully in neutral. In addition, they can be used to ensure that the cruise control system deactivates if you depress the clutch.
I have the clutch squeek as well. It makes an aweful noise every time I depress the clutch pedal, no matter what gear I'm in. Stop and go traffic is horrible for one more reason now. I can't stand the sound. I had it in for three weeks and they could not fix it. They replaced the clutch fork and lubed the heck out of it. It didn't make any difference. I'm trying another dealer.
Oh man... i just developed the dreadded clutch squeak this week. It's starting to annoy me. I dont want to goto the dealer just for this... I crawled under and looked... it seems like its the mechnical parts rubbing thats causing the squeak. I felt it and it has this kind of gelly lube... would any kind of lube work or should I get the same gelly kind thats currently on the clutch?
Anyone find a fix?
Same squeak here. My dealer told me that is normal as the friction plate wears. He said it is normal for all manual Porsches. This is my 1st
Porsche
. Is this correct? If I can fix it with lubrication, can someone tell me exactly what/where to lubricate?
Mine isnt squeeking outside... if you look under and start depressing the clutch you can see where a hydraluic rod starts moving in... its that seal + rod rubbing together where it squeeks... I know cuz if I touch it and move the lube around and depress the cltuch again it goes away but after a 2-3 depresses of the clutch the noise comes back.
My 05
Boxster
had this issue. I took it to the dealer and ittook them three visits to solve the problem. They replaced the entire assembly under the dash!. Problem solved! My
Cayman
does not exhibit this issue. My
Boxster
was assembled in Germany, not Findland. Ithad many issues during my short ownership. Another issue was the oil pump made a horrendous noise as the car was warmed up and finally I had to have a cannister replaced because the check engine light kept coming on.. My 07
Cayman
only had the rear brake light felt reglued. It appears to be a better build so far. Also the paint seems to be more stone chip resistant on the
Cayman
Well, now I have the "squeak", too. I can't hear it from the inside with the car running, but with the engine off, it's really loud. I had the master slave replaced under the TSB/recall even though I had no issue. I called the dealer and am taking it into them on Friday. It sounds like something rubber that is binding when depressed or released. The service guy said that this was strange since the clutch is hydraulic and shouldn't make any noise. It's clearly outside under the car in the area of the trans so it's not the hydraulic return for the pedal. Also, lately, I've been feeling a little sensation, kind of grating, though the pedal when pulling off in first... something that wasn't there in the first 8k miles. I've no got 9.5k on it. It's been through one DE and several AX, but that's it, and there were no issues at all. All of this on the heels of reading the new Consumer Reports Buying Guide (which I don't put a lot of stock in, but look at it on the news stand out of curiosity) which puts the
Cayman
, along with other Porsches at the top of the list in reliability!
I now have the same issue on my 07 CS with ~ 9000 miles. Curious that the noise started the same exact day that I had my stock brake pads replaced with Pagid Orange and the fluid changed to
ATE
Gold. Coincidence or not? Was this a common factor in anyone else with the clutch pedal squeak? (Brake fluid change?)
can you elaborate on this rod/seal? mine is also an inside sqeak that is quite annoying... i've had several mechanics look under and try lubing but to no success.....
Hahaa really? I should be greatful that my dealer was willing to take care of it and actually fixed the problem cuz it was driving me nuts too. Since it says
booster
spring maybe you can crawl under by the clutch and see if there's anytype of spring there to lube. But I dont recall seeing any when I looked a while back.
Improved Clutch Action Dramatically - ******** Discussion Forums
just found this post and going through the pages right now for anyone interested in fixing the sqeak (appears to be common on p-cars)
ok after reading that thread i went out and found the source of the noise. it's the joint where this spring
booster
thing is connected. a little
WD40
on the hinges and the nasty squeak is gone!!! i'm so happy
I had this sort of noise on 2007 CS...I also noticed clutch wasn't smooth. Took it into the dealer...they had initially thought that the clutch cable assembly was dry and needed to be lubed/replaced....which they did...but real problem was the thrust release bearing...apparently it had been assembled dry and had a light film of rust on it...they replaced it and noise was gone and clutch was now smooth....
