Also because the turbines are so light, bw up sizes them compared to what would typically be used by say garret for that comp wheel size.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Black Market Racing has spent some time recently to bring you some amazing statistics that show how great our BMR turbo kit for the 996 truly is. Looking for faster spool but don't want to sacrafice any power!? Look no further! Black Market Racing has designed the Borgwarner EFR turbo kit for the 996 Turbo with you in mind! EFR 6258 good for 525whp on pump gas/800whp race gas EFR 6758 good for 620whp on pump gas/900whp race gas EFR 7163 good for 650+whp on pump gas/1000+ race gas http://www.blackmarketracing.net/store/index.php?id_product=3328&controller=product The car: The turbo kit : The Pudding(results on 91 octane): 6258 vs 6758 Tiptronic Boost logs: K24 for comparison EFR 6258: EFR 6758: You see the K24 doesn't hit full boost until about 4900rpm. While the 6258 hits at 3147rpm. And the 6758 isn't far behind at 3588. Your can reference MAP Pressure on the ProEFI logs in the right hand column. Say Good bye to your K24s or ditch the K24 plans and go Borg Warner! -Tom [email removed] [phone removed] x1007 Black Market Racing- Homepage

POST 4Original post

If your k24s don't hit full boost until 4900 there is other issues

POST 5Original post

Seriously. I've never had stock k24s but my fvd race 24/26 made 1.2 at 3500-3600 and my 24/20 can hit 1.4 at about 4000. In fact the slower spool and slower torque is what made me choose them.... Keeps rods safer.

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 4389017

Quote: This is my fault! I sent the wrong log to Tom. Just looked at the date. We actually fixed the wastegates on the K24 car. I'll update the log tomorrow. As long as you keep torque under control spool is not a bad thing. The biggest thing here other then spool is the "on/off" throttle response, especially if you track the car. Boost comes right back. With the turbine wheels being 50% lighter they are great for track applications. -Jeremy

POST 7Original post

The EFR`s are some nice turbos. They have a very light turbinwheel, which helps transient spool. Also a bonus that they have internal wastegate, BOV and boost solenoid included. They also have a pre-drilled speed sensor mount. I have been running an EFR 8374 in my other non-Porsche car, and are really happy with it. I believe there are many great turbos out there, but If I ever should consider tuning my 996TT to the point I need upgrading the turbos, I would go for the EFR`s. When you are comparing turbo spool, you should take a look at the ramp time, as this will effect spool alot. If you are worried about to much TQ at low rpm, you just modify your boost table to keep the TQ at a safe level at that rpm.

POST 8Original post

It'd be nice to see actual dyno charts with these back to back.

POST 9Original post

do you have dyno by rpm rather then speed, also why does one pull on the dyno overlay stop much earlier than the other one. i'm having a hard time trying to follow what you are trying to show...

POST 10Original post

Efr turbos are awesome. If I upgrade on my new 996 turbo I was going to build a 7163 hit but with vband turbines. 60lb per min turbos can really flow some air. Also because the turbines are so light, bw up sizes them compared to what would typically be used by say garret for that comp wheel size. This give them much more turbine flow and retain a better drive prrssure ratio while still spooling faster as well. Awesome turbos. Had a 7670 on an sti

POST 11Original post

September bump! What are everyone's winter build plans?

POST 12Original post

HI, I don't understand those runs on that Dyno Sheet that you provided. Besides the higher HP one is lazier on bottom end but yet you said those spool quicker? Am I missing something here? You do have more then the turbos swap also. From what I know and see ,not to be rude here, 18gs would be a better straight up comparison.

POST 13Original post

Ported stock are as good as it gets, or if your looking for high-quality solid aftermarket take a look at ETS. I just swapped mine to ETS and modified them so I could do external gates. My ported stock ones are available if your needing something quick.

POST 14Original post

Yes, I am interested in LQQK's stock ported headers. Pls contact me.

Quote: You must not have looked very hard! This kit is very reasonably priced, keep in mind this is much more than just turbos. I have seen kits on the market for $20k plus!

POST 24Original post

Quote: Am I incorrect in assuming, for nearly $8500, you're only getting turbos and manifolds?

POST 25Original post

Quotes source post: 4425502

Quote: they have a picture of intercoolers, y pipe and IC ducts in their post too. if that is included for 8500 i'd say its a very FAIR price.

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 4425506

Quote: I was wrong, the "kit" is closer to $9000 and does not include the intercoolers. The intercooler kit will bring you up to nearly $12,000!

POST 27Original post

For the "starting at $8799" price you get manifolds, turbos, Lines, fittings, intake adapters for stock style intake, and v-band clamps and flanges for exhaust. For $11698, you would also get the Y pipes, intercooler kit and all silicone couplers and t-bolt clamps. (Intercooler ducts not included)

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 4425568

Quote: I have to agree. This is the most ridiculously priced turbo kit that I have ever seen . $6000 would make more sense and you'd still make a great profit. Thank you for trying to take advantage of the Porsche market , but not all of us are naïve and a lot of us have been around the scene for a long time and know what it takes to make a manifold and mock up some oil lines, as well as what turbos actually cost.

POST 29Original post

Lets see for comparison: Tial Drop in Turbo Upgrade: $5495 (no manifolds) BMR Turbo Kit Base : $8799 (includes manifolds) EVOMS GT610 turbo Kit: $10999 (includes manifolds, intercooler piping, intake and tuning) BMR Full Kit : $11698 (includes manifolds, upgraded intercoolers and intercooler piping) Fabspeed Turbo Upgrade kit: $15995 (includes manifolds, intercooler, piping, and exhaust and intake) On average....Manifolds are another $1500-$2500 depending on brand and intercoolers $2500-$3400 without y pipe. Since our turbos are not direct drop in we include the additional parts needed to adapt them to your OEM parts in the base kit. So, as you can see, our pricing is right in line with other kits on the market despite what you may feel they should be priced at. Now, if you are a potential customer and want to seriously talk about price and might want a kit, send me a message, otherwise please take your complaints elsewhere.

POST 30Original post

It took me 3 phone calls to get a price of $2600 for two 6758's and I'm nobody. I'm sure you get them even cheaper. IMO, any manifold over $1000 is pure rape. That goes for any manufacturer. Let's give a generous budget of $700 for the lines flanges and BS. So if you charged $6000 for this kit you would sell 4 times as many and still make a killing on profit. I

Quote: I'm not a vendor defender, but if its so easy then go do it yourself. Since you get such a good price on the turbos, build the rest of the kit yourself. If you don't like the price, don't buy it, and cry somewhere else.
