Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I am replacing Textar (stock) rear brake pads in my 987.2 for Fedoro's. The sensor seems "hard wired" into the friction material. I can't just unplug it easily like the front pads. There was a small plastic hub that I pulled on to attempt removal of the sensor with, but it ended up coming apart from the wires. It appears now that the wires are embedded into the pad and can't be removed, like the sensor and pad are all one unit. Have I messed up these sensors? Am I correct in my assumption that they are all one unit? The Textar pads are very new BTW.

POST 2Original post

if they are stock it should come out. It is not one unit.

POST 3Original post

Unless you exposed bare copper, the sensors should be OK. You can try heating the pads until the sensors come loose. Or you can drill a hole in the friction material next to the sensors and then break the material between your hole and the sensors with a small screw driver, the sensors then should easily come out. Friction material is easy to drill and it is also fairly brittle and breaks apart easily.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
