When I signed for my finance in June the rates had just went up from 5.9 to 6.9 and the GFV went up as well, but it was the new model year.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone know when Porsche will put their prices up and by how much?
I have it in my mind that they normally go up in January every year?
Why does it matter?

Answering a question with a question is rude. It says far more about you.

Usually after the summer break as I understand it.

Summer 2023, 8% increase due.

is 8% increase the average increase that Porsche work to?
I think it is between 5% and 8% commonly. Considering world affairs I would imagine its on the 8 side.

Julian, what’s the source of this, or is it your own opinion?

googling average yearly Porsche price increases - seems to be between 5 and 8%
If I remember correctly, there were 2 if not 3 prices increases with Porsche in 2022. One was around Jan, the other in the summer. So I don't know if that is anything to go by in 2023...

Ok. Thanks
The base Carrera originally listed at just under £83k, in 2019, now it lists at just under £90k. When I ordered my 992 GTS in Jan 2021 it’s list was about £111,800 I think now it is £114,800.
So I would say about £3k a year increase. So around 3%
No idea what they will do this year. It could be higher as everything else is going mad.
So how much has an average monthly payment went up? With the higher cost of money and a 50% price increase in 4 years they must be a lot more expensive say you are coming to the end of a 3 year lease? Anybody changing care to quote the differences?

You can have a play on any of the pcp/hp finance calculators and see the difference between say 5% and 10%, suggest reducing the ballon payment / gfv as well of course.
A year ago you might get a £100k car with £25k down and a £55k final payment at 6% over three years = £756/month. At a guess that might be now £45k final (?) and 10% (?) which would be £1343/month
I have no specific information for all the above, just guessing but I imagine a search of finance houses will divulge current rates. I did ponder changing to a 570S in October, but was told rates at 9.5% and rising, so I forgot about it.

My lightly spec base Carrera would be £250 a month more now at 11.9 apr instead of the 6.9 deal I got by agreeing my finance in June before the rates went up . That’s over 36 months with the same big deposit on the same GFV !
Are GFV's falling ? Isn't this the value at which the vendor or finance company would be happy to keep the vehicle if the original purchaser did not want to pay this to keep it ?

But the higher the GFV the more interest you pay. Porsche know their market and if you paying 200-300 pound a month more that’s where they make their money and if the market drops you have got no option but return the car to them. It’s a win win for them as they can within reason control the second hand market prices of 3-4year old cars .

Perhaps price increase is not necessary, if we continue speccing the cars with all the high-margin options
Porsche just declared record profits and margin increase from 17% to 19%

Porsche say the customers wont mind , Hmmm!
In the middle market particularly it's more an affordability question.
Maybe potential customers will not mind not being able to afford a middle market Porsche ?
And a 15% premium for accepting the limitations of being "kind" to the climate ?
China will be after their customers and they are subsiding the march to electric !! Fancy that ... China taking the long view being "cleaner" than Porsche ....
Still, the market will decide ... and Porsche can only ever be on the receiving end of that .... hence I would say that this is dangerously arrogant for them ....

They certainly seem to believe they can currently charge what they like and customers will still buy. Could this be because of the end of the ICE versions and everyone wants one whilst they can?

Supply and demand. There are long waiting lists for the sports cars, the US dealers can get away with charging ADMs and they have no real competition so not price sensitive. Porsche answers to the market and these things probably leading them to think that they can charge more and make more profit.
I had an odd conversation with a SE the other day ... out of the blue he started a conversation about how relatively cheap 911s were compared to the competition. If you take McL, Ferrari, Lambo, upper AMG GT, etc.

Obviously a tiny share of Porsche's revenues, but the GT cars are clearly insanely cheap relative to what people will pay for them.
Well for Porsche to say it is going to be substantial and that Macan and electric 718 are going to see a price premium of 10 to15% my guess would be anything between 8 % and 12 % glad I took delivery of mine last week !
The end of ICE car means they may be trying to get some fur on their back before the levelling of the electric playing field, i hope many customers buy a Porsche for their engine above all else. Also they are still cheap and Porsche have been under pricing them for decades, on C and B roads the 911 will eat most supercars for breakfast, on wider , smoother roads the bigger beasts show where the money was spent, but these days a 911 Turbo S is really great value for less than 200K, i can also park it outside my mums council house and no one will notice it where as an SF90 would be causing traffic jams.
They're still cheap.
