Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

owners manual states that you can lower both windows by turning the key in the door (towards unlock posiition) and hold for a few seconds, after first unlocking the doors via the remote, cant seem to get it to work. Any suggestions??

POST 2Original post

What about if you unlock using the key in the door first? So twist once to unlock, then twist and hold to lower windows.

POST 3Original post

is this feature in all Caymen models? Does ' 06 Cayman S have this feature?

POST 5Original post

Really!? First for me. I'll have to try this when I get home. -Moto

POST 6Original post

I have tried this on my '09 and it doesnt work. How do you do it?

POST 7Original post

First you open the car with the remote key. Then you put the key in the door lock and if you turn left, both the windows open, if you turn right they close.

POST 8Original post

From the manual, page 26: Comfort function when unlocking the vehicle Unlock car with the remote control. Hold car key in door lock in the unlocking direction until the windows have reached the desired position.

POST 9Original post

Yep thats what i said, but it doesnt seem to work, held the key in the turned position at least 10 seconds...:helpme:

POST 10Original post

Try first locking and unlocking the car with the remote key... In my car it works perfect in two seconds

POST 11Original post

That's one of the cool features that need to be turned on through PIWIS , but if you go to the dealer most of the time they pretend it doesn't exist. Either that or they truly don't know. You can also put your windows down from the remote and set it so the windows crack when you open the rear hatch so it is easier to close. Supposedly this same type of coding is available in the latest Durametric Pro version but I don't think anyone has actually got it to work. Search older threads for PIWIS coding. Edit: Here's one of the old threads with information http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxster-chat/31161-some-piwis-coding-performed.html

POST 12Original post

It was a feature on my 06 when it was delivered (mine was first cs delivered ). Dealer informed me at the first service that porsche had a bulletin to deactivate this feature due to customer concerns of unintentional activation.. so.....I went for it and missed the feature. I used The durametric software to enable the feature again. No problems since.

POST 13Original post

I'm one of those ' 06 Cayman S customers with "unintentional activation" so I had it turned off. I found my windows down a few times when I went to the car. Imagine if it happened during rain....

POST 14Original post

I went home and tried it - it definitely doesn't work. I first unlucked with the key and then turned the key again - nothing. Then, I unlucked with the remote and then turned the key counterclockwise - nothing. I think this feature has been disabled. Held the key in the unlocked position for over 10 second.

POST 15Original post

The feature disactivated by Porsche should be the one on the remote key and not the one we are talking about.

POST 16Original post

Well, has anyone in the US gotten this feature to work

POST 17Original post

I'm pretty sure I can raise and lower my windows from my remote. And I'm in the U.S. I did also ask my dealer to have my windows lower when the rear trunk is released. Maybe that had something to do with it.

POST 18Original post

i havent tried the key way but just open the door and the window switches work without the key in ignition...09 cay

POST 19Original post

Mod4Cars will do something like this too. http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxs...s/46756-mods4cars-comfort-controller-group-buy-june-july-2010-all-products.html

POST 20Original post

I am hoping to go to a cars and coffee tomorrow morning at my local porsche dealer, I want to ask if they can add this to my cayman . see what they say.

POST 21Original post

FWIW i just tried this on my 2005 Boxster S . The feature works..unlocked the car, turned the key counterclockwise on the drivers side.

POST 22Original post

Just tried it on both cars, an '05 Boxster S and an ' 06 Cayman S . Works like a champ on the Boxster but nothing on the Cayman . Can I enable this feature with my Durametric Enthusiast kit?
