Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Soo my 2005 boxster s with 50k+ miles on it has a huge oil leak. As i can see the oil leak is coming from the oil pan. Changed the bolts and everything but still seems to have a leak. Can someone guide me or tell if this is a common thing?

POST 2Original post

Hi, welcome to the forum. Unfortunately - your photo doesn't really show what you're hoping it would show. You need more light on the oil leak. In general - tightening bolts usually doesn't fix any sort of leak unless the car was worked on by an inexperienced person (note I'm not saying "mechanic"). Is the leak from the pan, from the pan to block junction? Can't tell by the photo. And no - this isn't common - at least not a "huge" leak. A better photo would be of some help. Perhaps illuminate the leaking area with a separate light and not count on the flash on your cell phone.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
