After getting to the appropriate menu I was able to turn off the items for the drivers side and then reset the fault that was causing the airbag light fault.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Adding seats and harnesses for my track only 987.2 and I need to disable the airbag that's normally in the oem seat. Also curious about the seatbelt alert if you've done that. Has anyone done this with the Foxwell NT530 ?

POST 2Original post

Yup. There's a menu you can turn off seatbelt receptacle, weight sensor... The whole system Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

I have disabled the seatbelt on my driver side. Not because I don't wear one, but I have a very long driveway and I don't need to wear it for that trip (ie, I grab the mail, then drive up the driveway... I don't need incessant dinging to let me know that I don't have the belt on). It was easy (via NT530 ) and works great... note there is NO indication or warning that I'm not wearing a seat belt, so the light doesn't even turn on. I would have been happy just to silence it, but this is fine, too. I haven't played with the airbag stuff, but I expect it would work similarly well.

POST 4Original post

Glad to hear it's possible, time to dig into the menus and find the right place to make it happen. Appreciate the confirmation that it can be done with the NT530 . edit: menu is called POSIP ( Porsche Side Impact Protection system).

POST 5Original post

Yeah, I detailed some of my efforts on a different thread: Foxwell NT530 - new user info and questions I mentioned POSIP there, along with some other stuff. Not specific to the things you're hoping to do, but you may find other useful info there...

POST 6Original post

This is good information to know. Years ago, I had an independent shop add resistors to the line in order to trick the system into thinking the seat airbags were still connected and functioning.

POST 7Original post

Following up to close this thread out. After getting to the appropriate menu I was able to turn off the items for the drivers side and then reset the fault that was causing the airbag light fault. No more light. This NT530 has paid for itself 10x over the past year. Appreciate the help from everyone!
