Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There were a number of mods to the M96/1 engine that Hartech specialze in, I can only assume you are budgeting to repair the oil/water issue.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know I will lose money but I also dont really have the funds to fix and dont want to borrow any money that I wont actualy get back.
Car is a 99 C4, just had new coffin arms all round and new MO30 suspension (dampers, springs and anti-roll bars) and was just set up at center gravity.
Any thoughts on what the car would be worth or advice apreciated.
Cheers,
Kosmo.
Hi
Seeing as no one else has answered I will give my uneducated opinion. If the reasons you bought the car in the first place still hold true then look up who to go to and get the engine fixed. Otherwise offer the car to the same people as I think they sell cars as well, and may well offer the best deal because they can fix and sell.
Best of luck
Berni
Hi Kosmo,
I know you have had a bad experience and feel at a loss at the moment. My advice is to let things settle for a short while before making any hasty decisions.
Take a bit of time to obtain a few quotes for fixing your existing engine or going for a replacement or breakers supplied engine and work from there as regards financing the repairs.
If all else fails and you want to part with the car then berni's solution of selling to the garage that would be fixing it would probably be the best solution for you.
(If this is to be the case, my advice is NOT to mention the selling idea to them until you have received the quotations to fix the problems)
Best of luck, whatever path you take.
Kosmo - has the cause of the oil in water been fully established at this stage? I understand cracking of the oil galleries in the cylinder heads can be a prime suspect. Since you live in Shropshire, Hartech who are based in Bolton, Lancs are the experts in this field and would be my choice of repair centre. They may be able to supply you with second hand cylinder heads to help reduce your outlay.

You've already sunk some funds into this car to get it how YOU want it. It seems a pity to off-load it right now since you feel you cannot support it financially any further. I'd think about it that bit longer before you commit to sell at a loss. Not much consolation I admit but at least you've not had the IMS bearing fail and wreck everything in 3 seconds flat.
Good luck with whichever route you take.
Thanks for the replies.... :thumb: I'll sit on it for a few days/weeks and see how I feel then, I know my emotions are clouding my judgement at the moment.
