Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

So, you can probably guess what my answer is . . .

POST 2Original post

Yikes!!! Never!!! I don't even drink Coffee in the car. Cupholders ... Shame on Porsche for ever fitting them!!

POST 4Original post

No eating food in the Cayman ! (We need the little emoticon of the smiley waving the finger, no,no,no!!)

POST 5Original post

Cars (especially Caymans ) are for driving not dining!!

POST 6Original post

Occasional cup of coffee with a special top that will not leak!!

POST 7Original post

I don't eat in mine and don't allow anything but bottled water in the car.

POST 8Original post

My Cayman is a weekend driver/hobby "garage queen" I know "it's ment to be driven" anyway no, no eating or drinking in the car.

POST 10Original post

Anything other than water: verboten. I don't even like to transport any kind of take out... When I do, in a plastic liner bin...front trunk. While the smell of Thai or Italian food is appetizing in the house, in the car, not good.

POST 11Original post

It's a place of work, no perishables whatsoever, ever. Only bottled water and that's it. Eat when you have to stop and go stretch your legs!

POST 12Original post

On Wednesdays, I do the weekly grocery shopping on my way home from work. I had gotten into the habit of getting a candy bar and bag of chips to munch on my way home. As I was putting the bags into my new CS on its first visit to the supermarket, I realized I'd made a terrible mistake. The snacks stayed in the bags until I got home. I do bring a Porsche approved, designed-for-the-stupid-cupholders (ha!), travel mug of tea on my morning commute. Survival requires some sacrifices.

POST 13Original post

The maximum allowed is Coffee (with a cap of course). Eating?! Of course not, not even chips. I dont even allow smoking in the car! ________________________ "Sir! We're surrounded!" - "Excellent! We can shoot in any direction!" A good car will get you from point A to point B. A great car... will just get you into trouble!

POST 14Original post

Isn't that why there's a radio in a Cayman ? Sittin in the In N Out parking lot munchin on a Double Double listenin to some tunes. I can't imagine using the radio while driving.

POST 16Original post

No eating but coffee orange and water bottles Yeess ! Btw we have the best cup holders ever and if you travel with the car or in morning traffic its a must !!!

POST 17Original post

try driving cross country on a tight schedule.... energy/power bars and a can of mean bean java monster! no time to stretch, just run to the restroom and back to the car! :taunt:

POST 18Original post

No food. Water is the only beverage consumed in the car.

POST 19Original post

A word to the wise. I broke my own rule of water only by taking a cup of hot coffee for the cup holder (with a lid, by the way). Do I need to finish this story? I can say some rapid action and a good cleaner prevented the lingering coffee smell. Now that I am back to inahaling only leather, a small bottle of water is the limit.

POST 20Original post

I have to qualify my response. I actually do eat in the car, but only when I am parked. Over the years I've come to believe that eating while driving (at least a manual transmission) is just too dangerous. Mind you I can do it, including shifting with my left hand and driving with my knees. But all-in-all it is not worth the risk in my view. When the need arises I usually find a nice place to park, and then find a nice vantage point to admire the car while I eat. With any luck I can strike up a Porsche conversation while I eat. Then after the bite I am on my way. Nice and tidy.

POST 21Original post

I Prefer Nothing - But a Happy Smile......... Can you Imagine, Fish - Who 'Make Love' in Water............ Take Water, into My Cayman ? No No No..........

POST 22Original post

I do down Starbucks and drinks in the Cayman (is that cheating on this ?), though never driving. Cup holders, well.......that's been complained about enuf!

POST 23Original post

i've never eaten in my cayman ...in fact, i've never eaten in any of my cars irrespective of make (volvo and audi ). it simply the way i was raised...you never eat in the car.

POST 24Original post

Ditto. No food or drinks allowed in any of my cars.

POST 25Original post

Regularly. BTW, coffee cleans right off the full leather, and out of the AC vents when the sway bars are too stiff. Really, it is a car made of high quality materials that clean up quite nice. 41,000 miles (5000 + on the track) and it looks pretty beat up on the outside, but the inside is nearly as good as new (save a few scratches) with none of the damage done by food or drink. Cheers,

:drivingskid: :drivingskid: :drivingskid: :drivingskid: Well done.

POST 27Original post

Sure, I like my cars to smell like McDonalds french fries...NOT! I don't even stop for carryout when I drive the CS.

POST 28Original post

I never eat or drink in any of our vehicles nor does my family. We always get out of the car for those activities.

POST 29Original post

I definitely eat in it, but I am careful. I put a towel across my lap to catch crumbs. My drinks are almost always in closeable containers - pop-up water bottles, bottled soft drinks, and a coffee mug with a flip top seal. I have put cups with plastic caps in the car, but I worry so much about spilling that it is not worth it. Although I would prefer to stop to eat, time pressures do not always allow that luxury.

POST 30Original post

I eat in my Cayman , but I only eat other cars.... No food though...rarely drinks (mostly due to 5 speed)
