Does anyone know the exact PCNA residual and money factor assuming best credit rating for the 03 Carrera 2 Coupe on a 60 month lease? Thanks!!

POST 2Original post

i dont know, but why lease for sooooo long? getting out of a lease is a b-tch, if for some reason you have to move, lose your job, etc, you can be paying hefty $s to get out of it. Art

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can't afford the car unless I take that route

POST 4Original post

If cost is an issue, then lease a 2001 or 2002 with a few miles. Warranty will cover any issues if the previous owner was reckless/careless. You can get some really good deals and stay with a shorter lease. I would never lease over 39 months (24 months is preferred). I think you can lease a 2001 Turbo with 18-20,000 miles for about 850/ month 39 months plus taxes. That's based on finding one for upper 80's. Look hard and it can be found.

I like the idea of ordering a car but the C4S is what I'd really want, rather than a low-spec new C2. I spoke with the dealer briefly and he said he might be able to do $800/mo on an 02 C4S with a sticker of around 78k. I'd sure as hell pay an extra $50 for a Turbo. It's going to be a little bit of a stretch to $800, so I really can't go much higher than that. I do intend on buying the car after the lease, which would mean a 60 or 72 month finance of the balloon. To give you an idea, my dad bought his '73 911E new and still has it. I intend to do the same with my first 911 and as such I don't care how long I have to make payments on that sucker! I just don't want to have to wait a couple years until I can afford a $1400/mo finance payment Interest doesn't bother me. I'm a big fan of instant gratification

WOW.....You can find a 01,02 TT for the upper 80k range?......and then lease it for 24-39 months for 850.????......COOL........oh wait...a 01,02 TT for the upper 80k range?...(ring ring ring ring)...*waking up, and clearing the sleep from my eys**....huh??? I'm waiting on getting his numbers so I can verify

POST 9Original post

Call around to banks/credit unions instead of just going with Porsche credit. I got a sweet lease on mine, with no fee to convert it to a conventional loan (and 18K miles a year, too). There are also balloon type loans. Many options here, just look around.

POST 10Original post

I don't have current numbers, when I got my car a few months ago, the rates were as follow: Money factor: .00250-.00280 depending on credit Residual on 2003's w/ 12k annual 36 mo 58 % 39 mo 57 % 48 mo 53 % 60 mo ???? maybe 48-50%

POST 11Original post

I LOVE getting called out on something I have written. Well here's the back up. First we'll start with getting a Turbo for high 80's. Here is a link to EBAY with a turbo http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1871592515 This Turbo has 16887 miles and they have a Buy it now of $90875.00. Mileage makes a huge difference in price for Turbo's and I suggested looking for one with 18-20000 miles. This turbo has carbon wheel shift/brake and aluminum. So this Turbo SHOULD sell for more then the one I described (mainly due to mileage). Now here's the other interesting thing This is written at the bottom of the page: Most(99%) of our vehicles are Off-lease or Trade-in vehicles from Upscale Franchise dealerships (BMWDealer, Mercedes-BenzDealer, JaguarDealer, VolvoDealer, PorscheDealer, LexusDealer, etc...). In translation, the vehicles we auction are individual-owned cars before becoming trade-ins or lease returns. They tend to be nicer and cleaner than auction cars. We pay more and try our best to carry exceptional cars than "edge" type of cars. That means that they probably bought this car from another dealer. If they are offering it for 90875 they didn't pay more then $87-88,000 and the original dealer probably didn't put more then $86-87000.00 into the trade. This makes sense with what I have been hearing for trade in values on like mileage cars. So in summary as I stated above it's not easy and will require work but it is possible to find. Someone on the Turbo board or funcarsonline board will probably be trading in a Turbo in the next couple of months ask if they will force the dealer to sell it to you for $500.00 more after trade (this can be prearranged so the current owner still gets sales tax credit). Or look for a person selling their own 20,000 mile turbo the market dictates 86-89,000.00 for such a car. Now on to the lease part of the equation. Go to Leasecompare.com Enter all the information for a 2001 Turbo with 21,000 miles. At $87,500.00 the 39 month lease price is voila 853.00/month (12,000 miles/year). If you can only find something for $89,000.00 then a 63 month lease for a Turbo with 18,000 miles is right at 850/month. Heck you might be able to get the above referenced turbo from Ebay for that price. Also Leasecompare makes a profit so by going to leasewizard and getting the "true" info (it costs $40.00) you could probably get an even better deal. Sorry for the length, hope this helps.

POST 12Original post

One more thing. Notice that the bids on high mileage turbos (18-21000) on Ebay aren't surpassing the low 80's and even 10,000 mile turbos are having a tough time getting bids over mid 80's. IT IS A BUYERS MARKET. ENJOY!!!

POST 13Original post

Actually Nick if I were you my goal would be to find one at $85-86,000.00 and pay 800-815/month for 39 months.

POST 14Original post

You can also check out this website www.leasecompare.com I think they offer pretty good rates

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I want a long term. A 60 month lease then lets me finance the balloon for 60 months and then it turns out to be a nice low payment I think a Turbo is just a little excessive for me. I want to aim at a 2002 C4S. What you're saying is that it shouldn't be a problem to lease it assuming a 76-78k sticker for $800-850 a month? Even lower would be fine too Thanks for the help everyone.

POST 17Original post

Porsche motor credit's Residual value for Porsche is not good at all, especially for the used ones.. 24-39 mo is the max with 12k miles per year. First and the last payment..nothing more. $850.00 per mo.for TT??? There must be something wrong... even car holds %55 (used one) of its value still $40,500 plus money factor plus other fees etc. Divided by monhtly term...you do the math...$850...it doesn't add up.... Bill Karan Miami Beach, FL

POST 18Original post

Bill, Actually the flaw in your math is that for a used car the residual is not a percentage of the sale price. If you go to Champion and by a used Porsche Turbo for $110,000.00, the lease price will be about $1500.00 per month. However the lease company doesn't value the car based on how much you paid. So let's say instead of paying retail at Champion you went through Ebay or a private seller and bought the same car for $88,000.00. That's the equivalent of the same $1500.00 lease but with a $22,000.00 down payment which would drop your payment to the mid or high 800's. Bill, I'm from Miami also. Where are you at in Miami? We should meet up sometime. A few months ago I talked to another board member who lives down the road from me with an X50. Nick, Actually because Turbo's have depreciated more then C4S's you wouldn't necessarily get the same deal. I think it would be REAL hard to lease a C4S for 800/month. Be aware of what the salesman is selling. A $78,000.00 (selling price) C4S should lease for about 850-900/month 60 months. The payments should be similar if not even higher for a used C4S versus a Turbo due to the current market conditions. Don't worry about leasing shorter term because you can always release at the end of the term before financing. When you are about to sign on a C4S look at the final numbers (they always go up from the time you talk to the salesman on the showroom floor to the time you've hashed out the REAL numbers with the finance guy). At that point remember that if you look hard enough you will be able to find a Turbo for mid 800's. So don't pay the same or more for less car (unless you like the C4S more then the turbo, some people do.) By the way if there begins to be alot of noise from board members concerning the legitimacy of my claims, I am always up for a high stakes wager.

POST 19Original post

Cane, You seem very much "in the know" about the pros and cons of leasing vs buying. I wonder if I could email you the particulars of the deal I am contemplating, and get your advice. Thanks

I most likely will be shopping next fall, so by then, I probably wouldn't want to lease an 01 Turbo as it would be almost out of warranty although that argument makes little sense when I'm talking about the terms I am looking for . In any case, I should think that by then an 02 C4S would be fairly easy to lease at the rates I'm hoping for, right? Hell, my local dealer was selling the 02 I looked at for 78k when sticker was 85k and it only had 3000 miles. Perhaps if Turbos are obtainable in the low 80s consistently by the time I'm looking, it could be a viable alternative to the C4S. It just seems extravagant when I'm already stretching it to the C4S.

POST 22Original post

Cane, That is correct, there is no percentage but when we do the math between the sale price and lease-end value there is a % percentage between. I am not out there to prove anything I just wanted be helpful to everyone on the list. I don't think it is a good idea to pay lot of money down for a lease car especially $22K, but for financing it makes sense. Like I I said first and last payment...nothing more for a lease car at the beginning. Cane, I am around North Miami Beach area(Aventura), lets get together any time you like...also if anyone out there from Ft.lauderdale or Miami should join too. I have a 2000 Arctic Silver Cab. with Aero Kit. Bill Karan Miami Beach, FL
