Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

I am going with the stock, and plan to replace at some point with 19 or 20 - I hope that once the aftermarket boys have the car they will set the offset, so that no spacer should be needed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Time for a quick 500 mile review, plus & negitive points measured against the 986S. Positive points. Engine noise. PCM faster & easier. Partial leather much better quality. Sports chrono linked with the PCM. Steering feel & feedback. Handling, handling, handling (did I mention the HANDLING) The looks, the Cayman in the real world looks fantastic. Negitive points. The car is under powered, al least another 30bhp is required. The rear wheels require spacers(even 19s) Sports exhaust is required, the Cayman sounds better than a 986/987 but not as good as the 997. Sun visors too small, not deep enough. Summary A good step forward, better handing than the 997 that I have driven, with a little more power & sports exhaust, wave goodbye to the 997. Average mpg 23, average speed 44mph, average smiles per mile alot more than the 986 Having problems posting pics at the moment. Regards Rod

POST 2Original post

Thanks a lot S-Line. We that have not driven this car are glad to hear feedback. Negatives are expected and the more we find out the better our expectations will be. I take it you aren't looking back.

POST 3Original post

Do you think the 5mm spacer that Porsche sells would do the job, or does one need to bring the wheels way more out. I am going with the stock, and plan to replace at some point with 19 or 20 - I hope that once the aftermarket boys have the car they will set the offset, so that no spacer should be needed. One thing that I am hoping will happen is that someone will weight their wheels ( front and back ) so that over time we can know exact weights of wheels ( rim+tire ) for the stock 18' and 19'. I was watching one of the video on porsche.com and it implied that the 18' weight the least.

POST 4Original post

It is interesting to note that the 'Option 1' 19'ers provide 4-5 mm (I cannot remember the exact number) track width in the rear; must be the offset of the wheel.

Thanks for review with pros and cons. Good photos, SD wheels look great. Look forward to more when you get more miles.

POST 12Original post

Congrats, but no smoky burn-outs in that driveway. Also please use the scaling feature in the upload tool to scale your photos down to 800x600 or smaller. Thanks!

POST 13Original post

awesome look with those wheels. i just ordered arctic silver with sport design 19s, and can't figure out why few have ordered them! they are perfect for me, but wheel choice is a very personal one. peace, michael

POST 15Original post

S-Line, Great photos! Is everybody a Pro photographer but me? I can never get tired of looking at photos of the Cayman. Thanks for sharing! Russ

POST 16Original post

Great looking........what were the final specs of the car?

POST 17Original post

S-LINE we want more, we want more. Can you also take some pics from the interior?/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thanks.gif

POST 18Original post

Very nice photos - I like the stone driveway, and the way car looks on it. Russ talked about the pictures taken by people here - what I am finding is that many pictures from Porsche PR before the car was released are not as good as some of them taken by members - I guess the PR people never wanted to show us what 'exactly' the car looks like /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/regular_smile.gif

POST 19Original post

Euroboy, I have the same feeling. I can4t get enough ofsome pictures taken by members of the club

POST 20Original post

Euroboy, You are not kidding, some of the photos taken by S-Line and Friedman are magazine quality or better. Aloha Russ

POST 21Original post

Nice S-Line. We should have sufficient numbers to get a UK Cayman meet / track day sorted
