Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I painted mine silver then filled the letters with black paint.
Leading evidence: 'Fill letters' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I'm pretty sure my handbrake lever has been swapped for some reason (wear?) so I need to look into getting one of these.

Sand then polish up to get it smooth, then spray with black spray paint to fill the lettering and then buff the over spray off.

I assume Porsche must use some sort of press with paint to get the factory finish.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Got one that's arrived today. I'm going to have it trimmed in alcantara and have currently sanded and primed it, planning to use bmw attic silver as apparently this is a close match to oe unless anyone has a better match but what do people do with the black Porsche engraved part?? Spray it all silver and live with it or does anyone have a top tip for refinishing it in black. I just asked my missus if she fancied doing it with a small brush and I got 'the look' so I think she's off the team on this one!!
This should work.... worth a try ??? was needing to do this when I had mine done.

I looked into a few ways, my mate suggested this....
Sand then polish up to get it smooth, then spray with black spray paint to fill the lettering and then buff the over spray off. Not a standard look, but good enough for me.

Not bad but I guess you then have to do the gear knob?
I'm pretty sure my handbrake lever has been swapped for some reason (wear?) so I need to look into getting one of these.
Thought about the polishing but it won't look the same as the gear knob was my thoughts. I assume Porsche must use some sort of press with paint to get the factory finish. Like potato printing but probably more 'german'?!!!😂
It'll be a highly liquid paint applied using a syringe type applicator that then dries to a hard finish - as the clip that PeterS provided shows.
Try diluting some enamel paint with thinners, put it in a syringe, put the handbrake in a soft-jaw vice and gently squirt the paint into the lettering, then leave it for 24 hours somwhere warm.
Yes Craig, surely you have to do the gearknob insert the same? :?:
Unless you have the mega rare factory option of mis-matched handbrake and gear lever inserts?
Or as it says I'm the Tequipment catalog -
"Mis-uhn matchen hand-bracken und gear-change wiggle-stick" ??
What's the option code for that again Craig? It seems to have slipped my mind.

I like your style.
I painted mine silver then filled the letters with black paint. I then wiped the excess off with thinners and wiped straight through the silver again to bare metal. :frustrated:
So once I found all the items I'd thrown across the room and I tidied up, I painted it silver again and that's how it'll stay until I can pluck up the courage to have another go.
Anyone know where can I find a syringe suitable for this job?
It definitely sounds like the best method.
My fear is that anything wiped over will damage the silver paint and if there is no way of doing a real accurate job of the black it could look worse than just left silver. My wife has nail art brushes, they are very small hence me asking her?!? Probably reluctant due to my ocd and keen eye to details. Surely for mass produced items Porsche don't do that method on the video ?!? Pretty tedious for herr or frau Schmidt if they do?!?
