It's booked in to OCD Porsche on the Wirral, which is owned by a friend, for a full check over and then we'll go from there.

Bodywork is really clean save for inevitable stone chips on the front bumper and a scuff on the splitter, interior is very clean with hardly any wear on the leather, just a couple of marks on the painted centre console.

It's currently running N rated Contis on the back and newish but non N rated Bridgestones on the front, (why do people do that?!), so I'm actually tempted to fit PS4s all round and see if I can flog the Bridgestones on eBay or similar??

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
So having wanted one for years, this weeend a dream came true and we picked up our new to us C4S!
It's a 2003 on 72k miles, Arctic with Black, no sunroof and a few nice options inside.
Although we have looked at a few cars over the last 6 months or so this one was a bit of wildcard being at an auction! We spotted it on Thursday night, did some research on it, then drove to the auction on Friday morning to examine it.
All looked pretty good, history all checked out and a friend who works for the auction was able to tell us that among the paperwork was an inspection carried out for the PO in January of this year including a healthy borescope report.
It's nearly due a set of rear tyres, both silencers look a bit crusty, (great excuse for an upgrade
), rear discs are low but fronts are new Brembos replaced in Jan, and the drive home revealed a grumbling front wheel bearing but otherwise all seems great. Bodywork is really clean save for inevitable stone chips on the front bumper and a scuff on the splitter, interior is very clean with hardly any wear on the leather, just a couple of marks on the painted centre console.
It's booked in to OCD Porsche on the Wirral, which is owned by a friend, for a full check over and then we'll go from there.

Sure I'll have lots of questions as we go on, thanks for reading!
Nick
Looks nice Nick, and nice job finding a decent one at auction . look forward to hearing more from you as you get used to driving and enjoying it . its very easy to paunt in dodycolour the centre console to get rid of the couple of marks in the naff black stuff :thumb: :thumb:
Thanks Phil.
I'm looking forward to it too, have only driven a couple of 996s on test drive although we have had 2 Boxsters in the past so the interior is at least familiar!
The centre console is painted Arctic Silver but as you say should be easy and cheap enough to respray, might even tackle that one myself!
Cheers
Thanks James!
That was going to be one of my first questions actually!

Haha, I did wonder if anyone would spot the bus!
It's a 1979 Bay Window camper, runs a 1776cc twin carb motor, 944 front brakes, lowered quite a lot on 15" Teledials.
Sadly it's not as clean as it looks in the pic below anymore, these things rust if you even look at them! Hopefully it's going for a full body resto over winter if we can find a good company to work on it.
Welcome along Nick. As said, that looks like a great buy. Cool van too!
Pity they rust so much, like you say you barely have to look at them and they turn brown. Meet anyone that's owned one for 20 years or so and they'll have restored theirs 2 or 3 times.
Great things though. :thumb:
Well done, I did the same thing just over a year ago, big leap of faith but have been lucky so far, no major negs and plenty of upgrades later.
And here she is Le Mans Classic weekend
