Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi there, I have found this forum extremely helpful as I venture in to new Porsche Cayman ownership. Thanks to the regular posters for adding relevent and usefull info! I am sure us "lurkers" appreciate it greatly. I seem to be missing the "silver trim piece" on the A/C vent in the car. It must have popped off somewhere. I attempted to download the catalog but cannot find the part. I have attached a picture to show exactly what I am talking about. Thank you in advance for the help. Also welcome any ideas on places to scoop the part up. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Hi and welcome. I looked in the parts catalog, and the entire air vent is part number 987 552 131 03. The little piece you are missing comes with the entire vent assembly. It doesn't look like the piece itself has a part number which makes getting it without buying the entire vent very difficult. I went through the same thing with a small clip for my car that was part of a larger interior piece. Anyway, you can see how much the vent is from the dealer, but it is probably expensive. I have seen one of those on ebay a few weeks ago, so keep checking there to see if one pops up. Maybe the dealer will replace it free of charge under warranty. Actually, here is the ebay link. Porsche Center Dash Nozzle Air Vent Boxster 987 Cayman: eBay Motors (item 190400226758 end time Jul-25-10 19:28:34 PDT) Good luck!
