Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I recently bought a 2006 Boxster S , my first one, impeccably maintained by the prior owner. Finally reading the owner manual, I found something called "comfort function when unlocking the vehicle". This function lowers the windows by using the door lock and the key to simultaneously unlock the doors and open to windows. Not vital but cool. So I tried it on my car and it is not working. The dealer tells me that this gadget is only present on European models but not the Americans ones. Is this correct? At the end, still a fantastic car with or without the comfort function. Having the time of my life.

POST 2Original post

This function can be programmed by the dealer or anyone with access to the PIWIS computer. See post # 17 in this thread: http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxster-electronics/23651-blinking-side-marker-lights.html

POST 3Original post

It can also be done with a Durametric professional cable (see post below): http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxs...cayman-boxster-chat/35031-new-softronic-durametric-6-0-update-5.html#post451821

POST 4Original post

Thanks KS-CS, I didn't realize Durametric has this. Much more economical!

POST 5Original post

I don't know . . . I think the dealer owes the OP a freebie just for giving him the wrong info (suggest Frankie1 takes a copy of the instructions above to his dealer). The Durametric professional cable is pretty expensive, unless you can find someone else that owns one.
