Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Bolt-ons will get you about 10% Internals will get you about 20% Supercharger might get you 30% and Turbo(s) might get you 50% Add nitrous and you can get 100% ...for about 8 seconds ...once

POST 12Original post

Thats about 6 hp per pound. Meaning a 2 pound chicken with that engine strapped to it would have 12hp.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 7793226

If you ever ate a bad chicken burrito, 12hp is nothing.

POST 14Original post

HAHAHAH! thats rocket chicken back to the OP... on a serious level you might try 6speedonline (google it) those guys might be more "your speed"

POST 15Original post

if you are over 25 and have any desire to get anywhere near that power level, sell your car and buy a turbo ASAP. easily achievable, easily manageable, and you'll retain the car's value. The supercharger kits for the 996 / 997 are overpriced, so unless you're buying someone's takeoff (see six speed online) you're going to be out 13-14K installed. Exhaust add another 2-3K. Extra injectors, map for ethanol, a little fire suppression, some slicks, and you'll be out another 3 to 5. This assumes stock internals and stock compression. Before you do any of that, if i remember correctly you have a mk1 tip? call up the guys at VF engineering, they are a well respected 996/7 supercharger vendor. Ask them about their experiences supercharging mk1 tips (power to rear wheels).

His CAPS LOCK would turn on and off by itself. mAnY oF hiS poSTs enDed uP lOokinG liKe tHis! It was hilarious! I gave him **** about it until he got it fixed. And.... another guy couldn't get his Q key to work, so every time he needed a Q he would type "cue." The cue uality of his cue uips was cue ite interesting.

the new GT3 has a 3.8L and puts down 450. if your looking for 500hp n/a you will need a 6.4L Hemi. (525HP) haha seriously bolts ons are pretty much limited for the 3.4 and 3.6L. chip, exhaust, and the plenum splitter. i havent seen anything to do with bigger injectors or raising fuel pressure, or cams. but cams are probably out there. now are they worth the price for hp and time to install.........well thats another thread.

POST 20Original post

Actually, it's the GT3 RS that has 450HP. The GT3 has "only" 435 HP.

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 7800547

Both the GT3 and GT3 RS have 317 lb - ft of torque

It aint always just about HP.... The most important mod you can make is to lose some weight off the car. That affects your braking, your acceleration, and your overall handling. I'm pretty sure I'm the fastest 3.4 996 on the planet and I only have 270 rwhp, about 320 flywheel. BUT..., together we only weigh 2600 on fumes. As I said, it aint always just about HP....
