You will need to run a switched 12V wire over from the fuse-box (the adapter wire is always hot) to trigger the headunit on/off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi all, I have a 2007 Cayman S non-bose with CDR-24 that I'd like to replace with a pioneer appradio 3, and would like the easiest way to do it,ie wiring harness. Has anyone used the euromotorspeed harness or Autoleads harness? 06-08 PORSCHE CAYMAN AFTERMARKET RADIO WIRING HARNESS KIT (WITHOUT BOSE SYSTEM) | eBay OR http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/auto...ds.co.uk/autoleads-pc9-410-porsche-boxster-wiring-harness-adaptor-iso-lead.html Which one of these to use?? The second looks plug and play if it does work with CDR-24? Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

A lot of folks, including myself, have used euromotorspeed's products, and have had nothing but great things to say about the support you'll get fro Loi. I had a Bose system, so also needed the MOST adapter. He also sells a bezel that will make your aftermarket radio look like it came from the factory that way. Loi frequents this site...you should be able to connect with him and find out what else he can provide for your install.

+1 On Euromotorspeed kit. No aftermarket is completely plug-and-play (depending on what external sensors you need: B/U camera, speed pulse, night/day, parking brake, etc). You will need to run a switched 12V wire over from the fuse-box (the adapter wire is always hot) to trigger the headunit on/off. Besides the adapter you may need an antenna plug adapter.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
