Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Many thanks to Fred, Jack, Matt and Amir for another great Sunday drive. Fred, Matt and I drove our 996TTs -- Jack and Amir drove their 360Ms (According to Jack, "the horses needed to run."). Fred led a ferocious pace across Stunt Road, Schueren Road, Mullholand and various other twisty roads.
At one point, I found myself running up on a motorcycle racing along Schueren Road. He punched it and I followed. Much to my surprise, I was not only able to keep up with him, but I was actually considerably faster. Given the appearance of the bike and the full race suit worn by the driver, I assume he was a semi-serious driver. Thus, I was surprised that I was able to keep pace and even drive faster through a tight canyon road. I thought motorcycles were generally faster than cars.
I finally had an opportunity to test my brakes. I was ripping down Schueren Road when, at the mid-point of a blind curve, I came across a car stopped in my lane. When I first saw the car, I genuinely thought that I was going to hit it. I immediately slammed on my brakes and, much to my surprise, my car stopped with a few feet to spare. These brakes are truly awesome.
Here are a couple of photos. Jack drove the yellow 360M, Amir drove the silver 360M, Matt drove the silver 996TT, and Fred and I drove the black 996TTs (mine is the one in the middle). The views were great from the top of the mountain, at the intersection of Stunt and Schueren.

Sorry you couldn't make it Oak -- you missed a good drive.

What an awesome collection of cars....but who was doing the donuts....there was a lot of rubber left on the road where you took the pictures....

About the bikes, I once encountered a whole pack of them racing through one of my favorite canyon roads in the Napa Valley area. They were all over me on a straight section, and when we got to the tight stuff I was gone.
Its true that bikes are faster in terms of acceleration, but that's all. They don't have enough rubber on the road to stop or corner real good.
That's a great story, thanks for sharing.
I was on the very same roads in a black 996 TT on Sunday at around 1 o'clock. Mostly on Mulholland Hwy. Like you I ran into alot of bikes, hoards of them that late in the day. Some were faster, others slower. The cruiser bikes held me up pretty good. That road is a blast to drive fast, but I prioritize safety in those blind corners, and find myself going much slower than I know I could. I still don't know where the limit of this car is, and don't want to find it on public roads.
Anyway, nice photos of some awesome cars, thanks!
I live in the area and would love to join you guys for a run! ( If you don't mind having your group photo's marred by a lowly 996 C-2 Cab).
E-mail me @ [email removed] the next time you're going!... Anybody doing the PCA run up to the Auga Dulce winery this Saturday?

Having driven bikes and cars since 11-12yrs of age and currently owning a 996 C4 and Suzuki GSX-R1000 I can cay that it all depends.
The acceleration on a hi-sport bike is at a diferent level, my bike can pull over a second in 0-120mph over a 600HP/2000lbs Ferrari F60! (0-60mph in 2.8 sec, 0-120mph in 8sec and reaches 87mph in just first gear!)
The fact that they have less rubber has nothing to do. Actually the breaking is much better in a bike do to the weight ratio. But the problem is that the bike has no aerodinamic help thats why in the curves, the cars are faster. On the highway the bike will win, but on a mountain road the car will win if there is enough curves.
Thats why the aerodinamically downforce endowed Ferrari F1 of Schummacer is faster per lap in a circuit than Valentino Rossi's MotoGP even though the 240HP/260lbs MotoGP bike will out accelerate and have higher top speed than the Ferrari F1.
