Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Out of interest, which wheel does the speedo run off?

It just means you are running a slightly wider tyre which does fit but is not optimal.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
This may be a bit of a simple question but can anyone tell me if 18" alloys off a 996 Turbo will fit my standard 996 C4 Tip. I notice that the tyres on the rears are 295/30/18 whereas my rears are 285/30/18s. Both have 225/35/18s on the front. Also what is a fair price for wheels from a Turbo like these?
Thanks in advance.
Martin.
Seconded as per Richard.
Turbo has 11" ET45
Non Turbo/4S has 10" ET65
Basically theyd stick out far too much, its not for example a case of fitting spacers.
You can get 'narrow body' fitment, and to go on Boxster too.
For some reason I have 295/30/18 which is standard but my fronts are slightly different being 235/40/18....shouldnt this be 225/40/18?
What tyres should i fit on the front when I'm up for change?
Yes on the front it should 225/40/18. It just means you are running a slightly wider tyre which does fit but is not optimal. Also 225/40/18 is a very common size so cost is cheaper, more choice and if you care about N rating then obviously you will be able to get this as 235/40/18 wont be made with N rating.
Brand-wise try to keep all four the same, IMO.
Whichever...
235/40/18 is the 996 MKII GT3 size front tyre. Usually run on a 8.5x18 rim but still ok on 8x18. GT3 also has 295/30/18 on a 11x18 rim on the rear. All N Rated
If they are 235/40/18 they will be slightly larger diameter, which may affect the PSM. Also, being a non-standard size for your car might be an
insurance
issue in the event of a claim.
Another pointer is the GT3 has different wheel arch iiners to prevent the 235s rubbing. Probably best to stick to the 225s.
