well they didnt do quite that but £675 was lower and they allowed me to keep my full no claims for my other car and "mirrored" the discount onto this policy which means i have full no claims to use on both cars which i think saved me much more on my honda than the 10% i had asked for

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys. Just got my renewal through from Elephant and its gone up since last year. I have a C4S conv, do only 4000 miles a year. I had only 3 point which were added 4 years ago but in January got caught on my phone and another 3 points. My original renewal price was £980 but after I told them about my 3 points in January it jumped up by £460. I recently re-insured my van and also informed them that I had gained 3 points and that premium only jumped £54. Can anyone recommend a decent Insurance company please.

Porsche Insurance - 01462 428150 Underwritten by Aviva but much cheaper, 2 trackdays included and great service so far although I haven't claimed. Cheers, Phil

POST 3Original post

Hi there i had a very similar problem last month, ( 3 points dating back to 2005, then last year in july 3 more for being caught speeding in petworth on way to Goodwood festival of speed, the ***** was in exactly the same place this year too!) my insurance was £950 for the last year which jumped to £1360, this was with admiral and while they were ok for a few years with a multi car policy i wouldnt recomend sticking with them because i could find many quotes online throught the comparison sites lower, but i did find Mayfair insurance who you can find on www.performanceinsurance.co.uk i did the online stuff and it wasnt much better (£1185) but they rang me up and i gave them the lowest quote i had (£717) and said for them to get my custom they would have to beat that by 10% well they didnt do quite that but £675 was lower and they allowed me to keep my full no claims for my other car and "mirrored" the discount onto this policy which means i have full no claims to use on both cars which i think saved me much more on my honda than the 10% i had asked for i have no connection other than being a new customer the policy is underwritten by royal & sun alliance and the staff are friendly give them a go cheers tim

POST 5Original post

I tried the comparison websites (don't usually work for me on insurance) and found 'Bell' insurance gave me a really god quote. you might want to pump your details into a few comparison sites and see if they can better your current quote.

Try a new player in the market 'Bridle' www.bridleinsurance.co.uk

POST 7Original post

All insurance has gone up by around 14% anyway which is a right pain. A-Plan, Manning, Privilege, Aviva have all been good on occasion but obviously depends on your needs more than anything else.

POST 8Original post

i found MWA to be cheaper than Porsche Insurance (both going with Aviva) though it doesnt have track insurance inc. like the one at P.I. (which i didnt know was added into the policy  )

POST 9Original post

For limited miles, if it is a second car, have you tried Haggerty? Not sure their position re points etc. http://www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk/

POST 10Original post

Admiral have been good to me. My 996 Turbo cost me £386 to renew last month. I'm 32 and have 10 years no claims. Could get any better else where when i went looking. Jim

POST 11Original post

Depends upon how you define "Best" as to me it amounts to far more than simply cheapest. I am with ManningUK personally and for what you get I find them very competitive and could happily recommend them to anyone, but if you have no need for things like track cover then I am sure that you can save cash with some of the others and probably still get a similar quality of service if you shop around.

POST 12Original post

Hi saucyboy wasnt knocking admiral for the first 4 years i used them they were really good and competitively priced, but due to my speeding fine, the policy jumped up by about £600 for the three cars i owned i insure them all seperatly for significantly less now i have found over the years that the longer you renew with the same company the more they all seem to bump up the price and other companys always seem to be cheaper a few years down the line, i had exactly the same with direct line, then privilege and now admiral i would point out that i have been driving for 21 years and have never made a claim and while i have two current sp30s i seem to pick one of these up about every 4 years and its always in a spot where the slight speed wouldnt have mattered, the last one in petworth was on the way out of town about 30m before the national speed limit signs and after the last turning or entrance in the town so was clear road and was seen from behind accelerating doing 40 in the 30 (for the next 5 car lengths) toward the national speed signs i am supremely jealous of your low quote for your turbo, you must live in the shetland islands or something similar  i do cheat slightly and keep my 911 in surrey at my parents adress, if i kept it in london i would be paying £1500 for it alone cheers tim

POST 13Original post

Insurance Strongly recommend Adrian Flux ( www.adrianflux.co.uk ) 0844 888 5544. Thye use Aviva. They cover my car for significantly lower (£100+ less)than any other poicy I could find either on the comparison sites or yellow pages ring arounds and it gives good comprehensive cover. No links to them just a slog until I found them to be the best for me.

POST 14Original post

Admiral Multi-car are easily the cheapest if you have one other (and especially two or three other) cars to insure. My fully comp premium is £470 p.a through them. The more cars you insure on the policy, the more leverage you have to negotiate premiums and other aspects of the policy. Threaten to leave and watch them bring it down. They also agreed to mirror my no-claims discount on 2 cars - one of which was the TT. I can also confirm that when the worst happens (someone drove into me a couple of years ago) they are polite, sympathetic, helpful and speedy. Very impressed at the time.
