I think we used the plastic insert that came with the D3 for fitment glued into the opening of the on the inner portion of the old Becker bezel.

This pic is from the
launch
of the Eclipse AVN6620 NAV unit. Its the best double din adapter I've ever seen. I've emailed Eclipse but not had a response. I have read elsewhere that Porsche are not offering
PCM
in some Far eastern countries as it doesn't work and are sourcing local units. It nakes me think / hope that this is a Porsche bezel.
Its definately not the Japanese adapter, anyone know where its from?

...Goin the Jap route, via eBay... You wont be disappointed. Color match is damn near perfect at worst. Fit and finish are great considering they're mass producing these. The cost And shipping far outways the man hours and $ You will pay to have a stereo shop fab one out of fiberglass. Unfortunately, they dont come with the little Porsche logo though. I saw that exact picture about 3 months ago and after some time of turning up nothing other than dead ends, I found the kit on eBay. It looks great with my Kenwood 5120.

where did you get that bezel? is it custom or the japanese version...? thanks...i'm thinking of upgrading to the Pioneer F series or a Kenwood from my D3

Its the old Becker CDR-24 that was cut up, bondo'ed and sprayed to match. I wanted to retain the factory curves. No walk in the park but, I actually enjoyed the 3 evenings that summer getting it right.

Wow, nice job! I've wondered if the CDR24 face plate could be adapted to accomodate a 2 din deck. Beautiful.

I had to order it from my paint specialty store.
I think we used the plastic insert that came with the D3 for fitment glued into the opening of the on the inner portion of the old Becker bezel. In other words, only the outer part of the Becker bezel was used to fit the Cayman opening and the inner part of the D3 bezel to fit the D3. Both were glued together and Bondo filled the spaces between.

-F90BT. I do have the
Bose system
in my car at the moment. Is there anything I should be aware of with this conversion? I am planning on having a shop do this for me but really want to be knowledgeable going in. I think I read somewhere that the speakers will need to be replaced and rewired?
