Good luck, take your time, the results really are worth it, oh and remember, after refitting when you come to bleed the brakes, DONT use the full pedal travel likei did as its can cause other problems, use half a pedal!!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone had their calipers refurbished? I have black calipers atm and the lacquer is a peeling . . and looks appalling. I think red calipers would look far better on my particular model, but I have a feeling that if I try to tackle them myself, I will not be happy with the result. I was wondering if this was a relatively common project for a body shop to do? If anyone has had it done? And what sort of price would I be looking at? Any info would be gratefully received. Iain.

POST 2Original post

I was in exactly the same position, have a look at this thread http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=54006 It depends how handy you are with the spanners :?:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for that  Of course, I will now have to tackle the job myself . . Gulp. Your picture of the ex black caliper shows it's the right decision! Now, where did I put that hammer & chisel? . .
