To those who have done this mod where did you mount the ballast(s)? Thank you.
No one bothered yet, from what i have seen. Not worth it. That is what
headlights
are for.
Bman save yourself time and money and get the hoen-xenon match fog lamps. The color is nearly identical to the
headlights
, you don't have to worry about light control module warnings everytime you start your car, and there's really no need to blind people with an HID retrofit in a
reflector housing
... the brightness would probably make the fog worse.

Appreciate the response. I'm not installing so much for the look as I am the extra light. If you never driven a car with both HID fogs and
headlights
you haven't seen the light.
I've had HID fogs in my past two cars over a period of about 4 years and not once was flashed or pulled over. The key to this is adjusting your fogs downward a bit. I find that you are blinded much more by SUV's with HID's
I hooked up the kit last night to test my new bulbs and no warning messages. Looks like I'll be the guinny pig.
More to follow...
Bman let me encourage you.
All it takes is living in the north land where the nights are long and dark and the moose freely walk then one wants the brightest solution possible.
It's true that when one aims such lights down so that the cut off is below the sight line of the other driver they appreciate it.
Moreover, if you've ever driven our L-O-N-G desert highways out west at night, one knows that seeing those lines for a couple of miles when you're the only one and the only light out on that night it gives a feeling of security.
Let is know what you SEE!
I will be doing this HID foglight conversion, my
audi
had it for 7yrs no problems and I loved it.
I'll be doing mine as well
Which kit did you end up going with?
Kit from amplified Expressions, I purchased one on ebay and after 3 days the Ballasts/Igniters went bad and the lights were blinking. Amplified expressions actually moved to a bigger shop since they are so busy. They also changed the name to ICE In Car Electronics. the website hasnt been updated. But all of the guys are still there so call Cyrus [phone removed]. here is the article:

Looks great! Any error codes?
I am looking to convert my Halogen
headlights
to HID as well. Don't need the bi-xenon so much as I would just like to change the low beams like I the OEM's on my 02 A4. Either going with a conversion kit with the chip to fool the computer or hold out until someone has a complete headlight replacement.
Did you convert your Halogen low beam into HID ??
