As Zero says not realy worth it unless if your going for big power , they do change the sound a bit which i like but power for £££ the money is better spent elsewhere.

Hi...Has anybody had performance headers fitted... I have a 996TT, and seen a number of performance tuners selling them. Any feedback on gains by having them fitted.

Don't bother. The stock headers flow well and insulate great. Port your existing headers if it matters to you. I have some very expensive inconel headers, and whilst they do flow a bit better, and have subtly altered the sound of the car, its hard to justify them on a £ for performance basis.

Thanks for the info....i have seen a number of headers for around the £800 mark, but also seen the ebay items at £170. I am hoping to acheive around 580 bhp when all is done. Does a specialists do the porting or a machine shop. Thanks all

Either should be able to port them for you. I'm sure theres a few for sale also tho. What mods are you thinking of to get to 580hp ?
