Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For reasons way to dull to go in to I need to remove the exhaust tips (quad look) on my 996 TT It makes sense when off to replace the bolts etc however how easy is this to do with the rear bumper on?? It looks a bit tight for space in there and was wondering if its a straight forward job? Main concern is holding the top bolt whilst un/doing the bottom one, as nothing will get in there to hold the top bolt from turning. Sure there is a an easy way but before I attack any thoughts would be great?

POST 2Original post

I tried to remove mine to polish the heat shield behind them, I know i know super sad! turned the bolts half a turn and they both snapped off as they were so badly rusted up.. Porsche had to drill the little bleeders out and replace them.. you should be able to get to them without removing the bumper.. but the bumper only takes 20 mins to remove I think. A
