Hi all.
As per above there are some great deals on 235/45/18 Front and 265/45/18 Rear winter wheels and tires in my area. Just wondering if these will fit a
cayman
987.1
or if they are too large in diameter versus the stock 235/40/18 and 265/40/18.
Thanks!
Hi there. i'm looking at Dunlops or
Pirelli
Sottozero.
Thanks!
I have 245/40ZR18 on the front and 275/40ZR18 on the rear of my ‘07 S with
PASM
and 1/2” wider wheels. No issues what so ever.

I’m more concerned with the diameter of the wheel not the width since these have a larger sidewall (45 versus stock 40)
My car has
PASM
which lowers the car’s ride height by 10mm (.4”) vs non-
PASM
cars. If your car isn’t equipped with
PASM
, you will have .4” more clearance than me which will mean the net difference in diameter between my tires and the ones you’re considering is .2” Front and .3” Rear. This will means the radius difference will be .1” and.15” respectively. Mine are also wider so you may in fact have enough clearance.

I think you should have no problems as long as you pay attention to the offsets and actual tread widths. Different tire makes have small differences in actual tread widths.
I have a 2007
987.1
Cayman
base with
GT3
lower control arms in the front and stock geometry top strut mounts. I do have MSC damper coil overs, but that does not change what will fit under the fenders.
I have no issue with running Bridgestone RE71R 255/40R18 on
OZ
Alleggerita HLT 8.5 inch width wheels with 53mm offset on ALL 4 wheels. The reason is SCCA STR class allows 255 widths max on Mid engine cars, so I tried maximum on all wheels and it worked.. I did have to add 10mm spacers to the rear so that the rear matches the front in total track width.
I do not have
PASM
and my car is very stiff, almost twice the spring rates of stock and big sway bars front and rear, so the car does ride flat level around corners.
Good luck.
