Best way is to buy a little metal strip you get from radioshack and using a female splice connector on the end of your wire so that you have a quick disconnect and secure connection.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

hi, where can i find both a constant 12v and a switched 12v within the car? do i have to run wires from the battery? i hope i don't need to to but i need both the switched and constant sources, amp draw is 0.1-0.2 amps thanks for the time _

POST 2Original post

Fafnir, I needed both for the Dension and Satellite radio install that I did next to the glove box and I drew both from the fuse box via fuse taps. There are several articles here that explain how to put in fuse taps, especially the one on hardwiring a radar detector. Best way is to buy a little metal strip you get from radioshack and using a female splice connector on the end of your wire so that you have a quick disconnect and secure connection. quote from the article: "I used a fuse tap from the cd changer\bose amp\bose sub fuse, D10, for a permanent power connection to the Dension. I was also installing satellite radio, so I ran another power wire from the telephone control mod, B9, fuse (switches on\off with ignition). " Hope you find one closer... but if not, fuse taps might be the way to go. - Suneet
