Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Could anyone recommend someone in the SE that could do this at a nicer price?
Leading evidence: 'Recommend someone in the se' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend someone in the se' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can't remember the cost now I'm afraid, but it worked just fine.
Hi,
Relatively new to Porsche ownership so would appreciate a bit of guidance..
I'd like someone to fit (and enable) the OBC to my 986 S 2000. I see revolution-porsche offer to do it for under £200 but they're up near Leeds and I live in Hertfordshire. I just called a more local Independent Porsche Garage and they quoted 'at least' £500-£600. Ouch.
Could anyone recommend someone in the SE that could do this at a nicer price? Looking on-line it doesn't seem like too much work, I'd still find a way to screw it up if I did it myself though...
Cheers,
Matt
Unfortunately that's what you get for living in the South East. Some owners on boxa.net go up once a year and have everything attended to in one hit. I did something similar when I got my second Boxster.
Thanks edc, they are still quite expensive (£545), might have to have a day out up north! Even with the petrol cost it would be cheaper to go to Revolution.

Well what you're saying certainly seems to match my experience over the last couple of days. There seems to be a massive difference. Considering the parts would surely cost the same no matter where you were I can only assume that down here in the South the mechanics a) charge a lot more and b) take a lot longer to do anything
My first Boxster didn't have the OBC and my current one does. I wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it as I hardly ever cycle through the menu and I have never used the cruise on my current one either. It is a weekend blast car only though.
Did you ask Wrightune about different options?
When I had the OBC retrofit done there on my 986, the cheaper option (which I took) was to have a button on the dash, rather than the additional stalk. Can't remember the cost now I'm afraid, but it worked just fine.
