This is not a probability of success.

Just switched it out for the Evo short shift that includes replacing the nylon bushing out for a set of steel bushings.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

it was fun seeing the seal grey c4s zipping thru the cones with almost no lean! the only dumb comment is that the 6sp shifter felt rubbery does anyone agree with this? the program praised the grip as being unbelievable and loved the new interior. they also briefly showed the new targa which was also praised effusively. hey guys, i'll bet our resale value just went up! those who missed it should look for the pbs rebroadcast this weekend!

POST 2Original post

I have a TT that I assume has the same shifter as the C4s. I have always thought it sucked. Just switched it out for the Evo short shift that includes replacing the nylon bushing out for a set of steel bushings. The difference is night and day! Just my .02 worth... Roy

POST 4Original post

I also think that the stock shifter is rubbery and will be replacing it with a short shift kit soon.

POST 6Original post

Stock shifter?? Bleh... Techart Techart Techart shortshift kit. Best mod i've ever done on a Porsche and this is my third. ~$600 installed, no notchness just pure short shifts. Can't say enough good stuff about this addition....

POST 7Original post

Thanks for the heads up Ignacio. I was suprised that it wasn't the "feature" car, ie first up, it was great to catch it though. When they reviewed the updated 2002 996, it seemed like a more in depth review.

POST 8Original post

note : in my market - that installment of motorweek will air on oct 26th, so you might not have missed it yet. Thanks for the topic Ignacio - I look forward to seeing it.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i particularly enjoyed the section with the back view of the c4s in the slalom! it's quite a departure from watching the usual suv's or minivans wallowing thru the slalom.
