Does anyone have an instruction document on installing a quaif in a 2007 CS. Anything that is available would be helpful.
Questions:
1. Do the ring gear bolts need to be replaced or can the old ones be used? If the old ones can be used what is the procedure - locktight or what.
2. Does one need to measure to make sure that the existing shims are correct forr the new quaife
3. Can the bearings be reused? How to remove & replace the bearings?
4. What is the oil seal method for the cover - gasket or o ring? Does it need to be replaced
5. Do the half axles need to be removed or just disconnected from the transaxle and moved out of the way?
6. Any special lub for the quaife or can the old fluid be filtered and put back in?
7. any special tools required?
Any and all details anyone can give will be appreciated.
Thanks

I am sitting in my back yard enjoying the fine evening and having a cigar. When I read this post by Porscha1VW I laughed out loud and my wife came out to see what's up. I explained that I was laughing as this guy had really stepped in it. He with one post (sure he could have searched, but hey, could he have imagined the wealth of knowledge awaiting him?) sought an answer to seemingly obscure question and was immediately answered. Amen, Santa Fe.
I think in addition to celebrating Ken's 10,000th post (and roasting him while doing it) that we should as well celebrate Sante Fe's 5,000th post. While doing that, we shoudl figure out how many of those posts have the word "search" in them!!!
Sorry Porscha1VW, don't take it personally, you just happen to really step into a pile of mud here.. :naughty:
Thanks for the help

Hope that is helpful. PM K-man-s if you have more questions and he can point you to the installer.
