I have modified my 9ff exhaust by keeping the muffler bypass valve, but replacing the original 9ff mufflers (where each side is separate) with a pair of Magnaflow parallel path straight thru mufflers with a cross-over between them.

I have modified my 9ff exhaust by keeping the muffler bypass valve, but replacing the original 9ff mufflers (where each side is separate) with a pair of Magnaflow parallel path straight thru mufflers with a cross-over between them. I would like to route the exhaust gases through the mufflers at low rpm (where some back pressure is beneficial) and open the bypass valves at about 4000 rpm (where no back pressure is desirable for maximum power). Does anyone know how to access rpm information so I can close a relay at about 4000 rpm? I could use the spoiler signal, but this is triggered by speed (75 mph), not rpm. This modified muffler sounds nice and quiet at low power (quieter than the straight pipes) but really growls at high power, similar to the straight pipes. I will eventually dyno both switch settings to see if I really want to change at a certain rpm, and to see how this new exhaust performs in general. For now I will compare the power and torque curves with my G-Tech Pro RR.
