Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

First to jack the car I used the Karl S technique of lifting the front first and lifting from the rear under the engine where there is a little L shaped metal bit that can take the weight (see the thread below for more details)and it worked perfectly.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Loren for very useful info on your web site. First to jack the car I used the Karl S technique of lifting the front first and lifting from the rear under the engine where there is a little L shaped metal bit that can take the weight (see the thread below for more details)and it worked perfectly. It took less than 30 minutes to get the car on jack stands and high enough to work under it without issues. Pollen and air filters were really easy to do. Oil takes the longest to get everything out (close to an hour) but requires the least work... To change the plugs, I had a reasonably tough time... First you have 2 covers to remove (1 on each side) with 2 bolts each, then you need to remove a plastic clip that connects the spark wires to the square plastic unit that goes around the plug itself. Once you do that, you realize that given the length of the plastic tubes, just like in a 993 you can't do a decent job without removing both mufflers. Did that and then it was a matter of fitting my allen wrench 6*2*2= 24 times to remove tiny allen screws and then 24 times again to put them back. I did not have the snap on tools that are Porsche approved so I used my regular Sears tools and their extensions + a 3/8" torque wrench and had no problems at all. Tomorrow the car gets aligned and corner balanced and the baby will be ready again for some serious driving until the GT3 comes in!!! I have to tell you that I never thought that my engine area would be so dirty and most of all the areas under the side skirts of the aerokit. My car is so low that I can't really get there when cleaning it and OH MY GOD, it was black of tar. Needless to say I cleaned it. One last thing, the busgings looked pretty worn out. I will ask the dealer to take a look at that! All the best to all JM
