Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hello guys. I am having a small problem I don't know if this is normal in all cayman's but mine right on top of the glove box comparment the trim that pops down for the cup holders is not sitting flush you can see a small gap.. I am attaching a pic... can some one tell me if also having the same issue. thankss

POST 2Original post

Mine has a small gap as yours has; it seems normal to me as it is flush with the trim to its left. From that angle it looks ok to me.

POST 3Original post

I had the same problem...took it to the dealer and they replaced the entire assembly...its better now but still not perfect.

POST 4Original post

Camera angle? What does it look like at passenger eye level?

POST 5Original post

Mine has been that way since new. It does not rattle and I don't use the cup holders so I just live with it. I may investigate replacing it before the warranty runs out.

POST 6Original post

just more cheap materials and parts for the Cayman...Porsche....which as I consider getting a newer one....is my main concern....handles great...fun to drive...but like a KIA on steriods....was seeking a bit more class for close to $70K....but perhaps the "family" needs the money/cash flow for their VW battles.....

POST 7Original post

you wanna see cheap, sit in a newer vette...I think Porsche has come along way in their sports cars especially in the interiors. I find the interior is very classy and well appointed...is it on the level as a bently or maybach...no but it's a sports car first so function dictates form.

POST 8Original post

I will try to remember to take a look at mine from that angle and see if it looks the same. I can tell you that it doesn't look like that from the drivers seat.

POST 9Original post

Not supposed to be that way IMO. For all parts like this there are usually ways to adjust how it sits. The dealer should know how or replace. You might even take a look to see if there are simple adjustments to be made.

POST 10Original post

I'll ask dealer see if they can adjust or replace the trim.

POST 11Original post

dealer replaced the cup holder trim, the gap is gonne looks flush ...no questions asked..

POST 12Original post

Porsche's shouldn't even have cup holders. Period. The cup holders were placed there for pampered Americans. To not have them reduces sales ... go figure. Proper driving does not incorporate beverages, cell phones, texting, eating, etc. That being said, if it is there it should look, feel and work like a Porsche. Take it to the dealer until you are happy.

POST 13Original post

Well said, as useless as tits on a ball and covers look like they struggle to preform the task...don't even mention the cup icon
