Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

im about to change the rear lights off my 996 i think they are the facelife lights, the ones with no orange strip, like this..
i have the pair whats the value ? or is anyone after a set to upgrade theres ? or replace a broken one ..
Are you going for LED units as an upgrade? if so let me know how you go and some pictures...
Had a look on the web and there's some crap LED ones at top money i forgotten where i came across them but I located some LED ones for a 996 with the latest 997 style pattern rather than just LED in the same places.. I think it was on a USA website from memory worked out about £450 so not cheap.
Not sure if they have in build resistors for the indicators otherwise you have flasher relay problems...
£315 delivered from PorscheShop.
Search eBay.COM (US site) for "Porsche LED" and you will see all three varients: ALL CLEAR (CC), RED CLEAR (RC), RED SMOKE (RS)
Note: the PorscheShop ones are RED CLEAR (RC)
(there are some on eBay UK, but less to look at)

Thanks GT4 , did you got for smoked or clear its difficult to tell the difference, also did you put a white led unit in to replace the reversing bulb, and did you get any lamp out warnings on dash or need a resistor to fool the car into thinking it has bulbs in ?
thanks
Recently swapped my rear lights for the LED set from Porscheshop. I am very happy and did not want to risk ebay alternatives and stories about resistance.....I only have an O level in Physics and barely remember Ohms law. Will be retrofitting cruise soon. I hope all will be ok.
This means I have a spare set of lights going. I was going to retain them for when I sell the car but if anybody would like to make me a decent cash offer, I may be swayed.
GT4 as the man in the know for LED's have you heard of anyone who is doing an LED upgrade for the C4s or Turbo have googled in the past but nothing comes up??? :dont know:
I have smoked.
PorscheShop originally sent clear by mistake so I have seen them, and you can see too much of the internals and lose the beautiful Porsche lines (of the lamp unit).
Just hold the smoked units in your hands and you will see what I mean - they are like jewels.
The clear, to my eyes, are a bit Lexus.
To be fair, some paint colours suit the smoked/clear better than the other.
PorscheShop had a January special offer.
No fault lights or rapid flashers (units are fully resistor'd up).
No I didn't fit LED reverse lights (when do you go backwards in a modern Porsche? - aircooled hedge-hunters excepted).
No wide body (C4S / Turbo) versions.
PS - the only clear units pictured are the first three cars (Black PorscheShop, Silver and Red Halfords Specials).
ALL other photos are smoked (light smoked looks almost clear on a black car in the sun etc).
