Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The servicing quotes DCE gave are probably the cheapest things you will ever buy for a Porsche (they are actually quote reasonable compared to MB etc), unless you buy a keyring.
Leading evidence: 'cheapest things you will ever buy' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cheapest things you will ever buy' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check £200.00' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, I'm a newbie to site and a new to Porsche. Always been a beemer man but with a good bit of finance and finding the right car now own a carrera 2 2004 plate convertible .....and it's awesome!
Picked it up yesterday and enjoyed the 200 mile drive home. I bought it from an indie non specialist and think i got a good deal (finance guy said bang on book price and over on my px - 335 coupe, but that worries me as you never get a good deal!)
I'm sure i'm going to have lots of posts and questions so I'll make apologies now!
I suppose the worry now starts as have i bought a dog, can I afford the servicing, etc etc... It has porsche history for 3 services and then specialist indie in January this year and has only done 3k since that.
Few bits - does anyone know where I can get the porsche badge on the gear lever as mine not there? Second - seem to have trouble getting the porsche 6dic cd cartridge to work in the boot, cant figure that out at the mo. Also the drivers window sticks a half inch from retracting all the way. Do you think its worth putting it for nanother service right away at my local specialist?
My biggest dissappointment is the quality of the storks on the steering wheel - indicators etc.....they seem so plastic-y and cheap I was shocked.... or rather surprised!
Seems a dream though and chuffed (as long as not a dog) that i went a couple of years older on the 911 instead of a newer Box which was my intention.
Having said all that - I just love it especially the sports exhaust (who needs the cd!!
the problem with the window.
If it is too high. wind it down, then wind it up keeping your finger on the button for about 25 seconds to reset it. Then off, and open and shut your door. THAT SHOULD FIX IT.
DCE - thanks for the first one - I'll go and try now. ***** on the second one but then it's only money! The CD stack - it does help if you put the discs in the right way and give the sensors a clean!! Also love your tag line!
thank you.
Flog, you can get your car serviced from porsche specialists too, alot cheaper. They stamp your book. Getting your book stamped by a porsche specialist is fine, infact some people prefer a local indy to OPC. (official porsche center )
About the cd. haha! yeah, even now when im in a rush to eject one of my cd's to put BAT OUT OF HELL in on a hot summers day, i get the "no cd" and run back out, and try disc the other way lol.
Ah, in that case i don't know a quick fix i'm afraid. It could be something wrong with the teeth inside the door, i don't know. Someone on the forums might know more about it, but it sounds as it may need a garage to take a look, not an OPC.

PS - this is a stalk
or possibly
I really like the cheap stalks as they show porsche sense . ie make the non critical parts as light as possible, after all it is a sports car. I also like the alloy jack, how cool is that. Also a plastic intake manifold.
If you want thick stalks buy a golf, they are only 200kgs heavier.
I also found the metal looking door handles are plastic... i always thought they were alloy, but I scratched mine, and underneath its black plastic.
I would prefer lighter seats though.
Re 911 cab window not fully retracting
I had a similar issue with my 911 cab. after having part of the window winder mechanism replaced. There is a spacer or similar which needs to be fitted in a different way for the soft top compared to the coupe. They mechanic who was doing the work on my car didn't realise but, as soon as I mentioned it, his boss identified the problem. It was a simple fix that they actually popped out to do at my home.
I hope this points you in the right direction.
