Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When i lift my engine compartment, there is a white container at the left side, it is empty. Is this a water cooler of some sort ?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So i take it that it should have some water in. :floor: Ok, ill keep an eye on it. thnx

POST 4Original post

Yep, all the way up to between the MIN and MAX lines! For future reference, this is a water cooler:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hahaha, point taken! :floor:

POST 6Original post

It has a level sensor in it, so you should get a red flashing light on the temperature gauge if the coolant level is low.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah , well it hasnt got to that stage yet. I just topped it upwith 3 glasses of water, now sitting half way between max and min. Thanks.

POST 8Original post

Do get the coolant concentration checked since you added water. Ideally you want at least a 33% coolant to water mix - you can get the hygrometer in Halfords for a couple of quid.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hm good point actually. Ill get it looked at when it goes into OPC next month for its 6 monthly check.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's a special thing ive set up with OPC, i book the car in every 6 month for a check when i raised my worry of RMS leaks and engine failure to them. This way, we can always catch anything early and make sure my car is running 100% all times. Normally, id never do this, but i know my OPC really well now and trust them, they are so nice people.

POST 12Original post

It's a special OPC thing that keeps you hooked on the official network and helps keep their cash flow up. That way they get first dibs on any "supect" work before you even think to ask an Indy for a quote or even whether its actually needed.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hah,i know what you mean. But, ive done this for a year so far and its not cost anything. Plus, if anything serious, i will shop aroumd that's for sure lol. One thing OPC told me when i went in and introduced myself, they said we are here to help you in any way we can. Remember, it's your car and your in control of what we do. or something like that.

POST 14Original post

I was only joking. To be honest, I have a very simililar arrangement with my proctologist. The weekly prostate check-up helps with peace of mind, and so far I have spent a lot less than on the Porsche. :guard:

POST 15Original post

If you've lost that much coolant get the system checked for leaks (or worse). A fully fit system will lose practically no water over 3-4k miles. Also get your coolant level sensor checked as if the reservoir was empty then I am surprised the red warning light didnt start flashing.
