Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

We ran our tests in 3rd gear with a multiplier of 1.00 for the dyno settings.
Leading evidence: 'Run tests in 3rd gear' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace bearing' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I ended up putting a large bearing puller behind the hub and used screws to screw against it to push the hub out!

I'm trying to change the wheel bearing on my 2001 996 C2
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone know how I can remove the hub from the wheel carrier without buying the $300 SIR tool or without removing the whole wheel carrier and taking this to get pressed out? I'm trying to change the wheel bearing on my 2001 996 C2

VRtuned ECU Flash for the C63 AMG
The AMG 6.3L V8 Mercedes engine can gain some major improvements related to torque and horsepower gains. In addition, we can also change the torque limiter, throttle response, remove the speed limiter, and increase your rev range. The C63 requires the ECU to be removed so it can be bench flashed. The ECU is very easy to remove on the C63. It is located right below the passenger window trim (USA right side facing the car). Once you remove the cover and unbolt the bracket, the ECU plugs are removed and you are ready to go. You can send in your ECU to be flashed and we will overnight it back to you. Crank horsepower gains rated on 93 or better octane give you over 50 horsepower and torque. Proving the performance, we ran this car on our Mustang Dyno. We had a baseline of 329 rear wheel horsepower and 338 ft/lbs of torque. Our start of the test was at 2500rpm and finished at 6600rpm. We ran our tests in 3rd gear with a multiplier of 1.00 for the dyno settings. Without doing any drive time or adaptation, the after ECU flash made
379rwhp and 362ft/lbs of torque
. The torque gains were very impressive from 2500 - 4200 rpms. The horsepower curve stayed extremely strong where the stock fell off. With a typical drivetrain loss of about 15% on a Mustang dyno in our heat and with the 91octane, we still made 50rwhp!

I ended up putting a large bearing puller behind the hub and used screws to screw against it to push the hub out! Worked great and I was able to change my bearing!
