Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hey guys, Need your help or guidance. My 06 CS with 20k miles has an annoying "jump" at near 2800rpm most noted in 1st and 2nd gear. It's like there is a catch in the throttle such that if I am not extremely smooth with the gas pedal the car will lurch near exactly at 2800rpm every time. This is readily reproducible and only noted in 1st and 2nd gear (with or without SC). CS is stock launch model with no known upgrades (bought cert./ pre-owned from dealer). And yes, I have used search under multiple queries and reviewed 30 pages of this forum. Any assistance before I take it to the dealer is appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I don't have a solution for you but both my 2006 Cayman S (32k miles) and 997.2 (1500 miles) do exactly the thing you describe. Some people have said that it is related to the clutch delay, and some have said that an ecu flash such as Softronic removes this behavior. I have tried neither one.

POST 3Original post

This may be the fabled torque dip. Do a search on "torque dip". http://www.planet-9.com/cayman-boxster-complaints/38164-power-surge-2900-3100-rpm-09-boxster.html

POST 4Original post

i notice something similar in mine... I think it is the torque dip described above.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
