Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

Website a bit difficult to understand, but I dropped them a line (Google translate did the trick both ways), sent a photo and the results were excellent quality.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm hoping to pick up a new (to me) 991.1 tomorrow and I'm keep to swap out the red dials (including sports chrono) and swap for either silver/crayon/black. Any suggestions or is this straight to an OPC to have my pants pulled down?

POST 2Original post

Think some of the YouTubers have done this, have a search on Auto Amateur or Tommy L channels. After market “cards” could be on eBay but don’t know how good they look. I ask my dealer sales guy about getting some changed and got a negative response.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks David. Much appreciated.

I used Heiler Tachodesign when changing my 997.1 C2S white dials for black-with-classic green numbers (for that 80s hot-hatch look). Website a bit difficult to understand, but I dropped them a line (Google translate did the trick both ways), sent a photo and the results were excellent quality.

POST 5Original post

I'm pretty sure an OPC won't swap out the dials individually. I think they will only replace the entire dash module. For about a million pounds.

Any suggestions or is this straight to an OPC to have my pants pulled down? Is that the VVS car? Quite like red dials, looked at 2 x gt3's with red dials but ended up with boring standard colour!

POST 9Original post

I have red dials on my GT3. I expected to hate them, and my plan was the swap them immediately after picking up the car, but I still have them 4 years on! In real life they are considerably duller than in photos, and at night you can't even see that they're red - they are just backlit in the same way as any other colour. I've grown to like how they liven up the interior. There are plenty of how-to posts around on Rennlist and similar showing how to do it if you want to go down the aftermarket route. It looks fiddly but not especially difficult to strip down the cluster. FVD sell (supposedly) OEM quality instrument faces.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Pete. I think you're right. I expected to hate them but they may just grow on me and as you say at night you can hardly tell. I'll live with them for a while and see how I get on. KR
