Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

hi i'm hoping i can get a little help here. i have a common problem with the soft top not going into the guides. when i got the car, it was popping out on the passenger side. had the cable replaced that has the bungee on it (through the roof), new elastics sown in on both sides. now it pops out on the drivers side and tries to come out of the passenger side now. £200+(labour charges and parts) later i have a worse problem. i have noticed that the C shape transmission bushes have perished to the point they have dissapeared. could this cause the problem?....hope someone may be able to help many thanks

POST 2Original post

The elastic might not be hooked up with enough tension to guide the edge into the rail. There are several possible buttonholes on an original elastic. Use only the loosest one that guides it into the rail n it will last longer

POST 3Original post

This is a good place to get some top info , as Sapientoni said, it's probably the elastic tensioners, I finally had mine replaced and haven't had any problems.

POST 4Original post

I just had the same issue with my 2010 Boxster. It was fixed by the dealer under CPO, by having their upholstery guy sew in two new straps. The original straps were stretched, and had no remaining adjustment left. It would have cost me $275 without the CPO coverage. Mike

POST 5Original post

I just fixed this a few weeks ago on my 2009 Boxster S. Here is a video that covers the repair ( https://youtu.be/RWLUTbetkYI?list=PLd0RSnOGaJkyeBWGHvJvB7-YtM3eUAPFx ). Make sure you read the first comment by David Fraser, as this most likely will fix the issue for cars under 12 years old. -Callahan-
