Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I originally purchased K28s for my track wheels because I got a good deal but the response to them at the track has me shopping for another set for the street.

Best tools to use are P21S cleaner, sprayed on dry, cool wheels.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at aftermarket wheels for my 2000 996 and have come down to the following selection: HRE vs. Kenesis vs. Fikse. Any reccommendations? Any top quality wheels I missed?
I guess I'll speak for Kinesis. All the wheels listed above are fairly light and of excellent quality so I guess it comes down to taste. I originally purchased K28s for my track wheels because I got a good deal but the response to them at the track has me shopping for another set for the street. The look is cetainly more race car mean than concurs pretty. Again, a matter of taste. Good luck.

I do have polished outer and inners. Besides having to hit them with polish every month or so, the truly hard part is to get the brake dust and rubber out of the area in between the spoke along the rim of the wheel. On most wheels this area is open and you can slide a brush or sponge in there pretty easily. The Fikses have a little polished lip in between the spokes that creates not only another surface to clean and polish but also 3 more perpendicular surfaces to try and get the dirt out of. A stiff toothbrush and lots of time is the only thing I've found that works.
I think my next set of track wheels will be anondized, not polished.

I have a set of anodized 18" FM10's. The spokes are difficult to keep clean, even with the anodized finish. Best tools to use are P21S cleaner, sprayed on dry, cool wheels. Pressure washer rinse after 5 mintues of letting P21S soak. Look at the Excellence issue with the supercharged 993. There is an article on a SC with gun metal blue FM10's. Now that might be the ticket. Look at BBS LM also.
I have the BBS LMs , and they are also not easy to clean. Until I discovered P21S gel cleaner. Apply to the cool wheel as mentioned above and power wash with lots of water. Seems fairly easy, although I sometimes have to take the sponge to some of the inner spokes.
I have a like new set of BBS LMs 18" mounted & balanced with Michelin Sport CUP tires (used 15 days only wheels like brand new and tires have lots of track time left) for sale cheap that will fit all 993s and 996s and 993TTs/993C4S/993C2S and 996TTs. Posted on parts listed ONLY mentioned here as it is relevant to this thread. $3395 for everything and these are personal parts.
Have a great day.
