Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi. Have 996 Cab and need new brakes plus a few other things. I would like to replace with red or yellow calipers. Is it better to buy parts down in the USA and get work done there, as in Vancouver, BC the cost is 30-40% higher for parts and not sure who to trust with job in south surrey area (white rock). Second item, when I go to start sometimes have to try 3 times before clutch engages starter. Not sure what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Scott [email removed]

POST 2Original post

If you're just looking to change the color of the calipers, you can buy caliper paint at an auto parts store, and decals online.

POST 3Original post

I agree with wyovino. I painted mine and got the decals on ebay. You would never know the car didn't come that way from the factory.

POST 4Original post

I agree with the suggestions to paint the calipers. Also, it sounds like your clutch switch is going out. It's fairly common.
