I always check the fuses in the driver's footwell.

If you're going to go to the effort of pulling and replacing the head unit, you may want to consider an aftermarket unit.

Someone who's replaced their radio with a nav system would be happy to unload their giant paper weight.

You didn't give us an indication of what you're driving, but if it's a 987.1 there are plenty of used radios laying around that you could pick up for a low price.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys I sadly had a soda explode in my cup holder and now my radio won't turn on. I had a low battery like symptom but that's been fixed after a few hundred miles. Do I need a new radio? Or should I try to fix the fuse in the back?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I tried so search but there isn't much on liquid damage to a radio.
I always
start
with fuses and connections. I didn't know that there was a "fuse in the back". I always check the fuses in the driver's footwell.
This is not a slam on you
but you have illustrated one of the reasons why water is the only beverage that I allow in my car.

If the fuses check out OK, might be time for a replacement radio. You didn't give us an indication of what you're driving, but if it's a 987.1 there are plenty of used radios laying around that you could pick up for a low price. Someone who's replaced their radio with a nav system would be happy to unload their giant paper weight. Depending on where you're at in TX, you might be able to pop up to OK Foreign and grab a replacement unit on a Sat. Lots of options.
Thank you for the replies guys, it means quite a bit.
I am actually in Los Angeles, California now...I should update that haha. I see a red blinking light on the radio (looks like a security light) I hope I can replace the fuse and see if it works...but I'm sure I'll need a new radio. Is it possible to get the NAV radio installed? Plug and play?
OK, so go to LA Dismantlers.
Plug & play for NAV? No. Once again, we don't know what you're driving (year please?). For a 987.1, you'd need to add the CD reader for nav disk into the frunk. Then you'll need to buy a new radio fiber optic cable that would connect the amp to the CD reader to the radio. Not impossible to do, but far less than plug and play. LAD would probably have the entire setup.
I'm old school, so I've added the factory 6 disk CD player to both of my cars. Pretty much the same procedure except you have to have the dealer reprogram the radio so it can select the 6 disks. Took me a Sat afternoon to do all the work.
You're the best husker
I drive a 2008 Cayman S. I don't mind having just the cd player...I love the CD stuck in my car haha. I just want it to work T_T
When I take it apart, how would I know if its fuse damaged or just done?
*whoa that site is awesome!*
If you want to go the PCM route for nav check out the articles section. Think you can do the install yourself but will need someone with PIWIS to code it in. Pretty expensive. Swapping like for like will be easier. A fuse is the easiest of course.
If you're going to go to the effort of pulling and replacing the head unit, you may want to consider an aftermarket unit. I'm happy with my Pioneer with nav, bluetooth, and SDHC capabilities. Also, a more modern interface than the OEM that came with our cars.
