Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. WIll have a mismatched look though for a while at least as my rear discs are original drilled that were changed less than 2 years back.

Used Textar pads for the first couple of years and found then to be comparable to OEM for less money.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm about to change my front brakes rotors and pads as part of the refresh for my 2010
Cayman
3.4S
PDK
Non-
PASM
.
ECS has a tuning kit with
Sebro rotors
and textar pads which I'm considering. I'm reading
sebro rotors
are good and they used to OEM for
Porsche
? Same with Textar?
Here's the question... the stock calipers are
Brembo
OEMs I think? If so, would going with
Brembo pads
as opposed to Textar make more sense? Is one better than the other in terms of stopping power, brake dust and wear?
NO tracking just some occasional spirited driving, maybe aggressive B-road 4 times a year and 85 to 90% daily street use.
Thanks in advance.
I've used Textar a lot as they are OEM and much cheaper than the same pads in a
Porsche
box.
Don't have any experience with other rotors; only ones I've changed to were
Porsche
's that I got at super price (cost +10%).
Thanks. YEah.. Textar weems to get good reviews. Just wondering if
Brembos
given their big brand are better. I now see
brembo rotors
at Autozone and am wondering if I should get them over the Sebros.
OK, I'm also looking up
Brembo brake
pads for the 987.2S and at least on design911, its states the brake pads for FRONT and REAR are the SAME? Is this the case?

Thanks. I'm starting to go crazy.
I do some tracking and I still use the OEM , if you buy from
Suncoast
they are not that expensive, I bought the
987.2 Cayman
R Front pads and standard rear with the OEM rotors, I do not replace the dampeners, there is no noticeable difference for me without them, my car it identical to yours, 2010
Cayman S
PDK
, I think if you go Textar and Sebro you will save about 1/3 rd the cost, I just wanted the exact same OEM feel so I spent the extra money, one my local
Porsche
dealers was going to match
Suncoast
Prices, I also replaced my brake ducts to
GT3
, very easy when wheels are off

Ever since I started to track my
06 Cayman S
(6-7 years ago) more frequently, I've been running Sebro slotted rotors as they hold up better than drilled. Used Textar pads for the first couple of years and found then to be comparable to OEM for less money. They do dust quite a bit but I liked the feel.
Good feedback on the slotted Sebros. I;ll go that way. Its also slightly cheaper then the drilled. WIll have a mismatched look though for a while at least as my rear discs are original drilled that were changed less than 2 years back.
Arghhhh I found a dealer on ebay that has the
Brembo rotors
in stock as well as the Low Met pads... I'm so flippant... I guess I'm thinking
Brembo
as the Calipers are
Brembo
and its a big brand that's a brake specialist and been around a while.
No one has tried the low met pads?
The OEM pads work great on a street car. If you are considering switching pads to reduce brake dust on the wheels, I have an alternate suggestion: ArmorAll Outlast Brake Dust Repellent. This stuff works like magic. You spray it on your wheels after washing; the dust
does not stick to the wheels
. Mine stay clean even after 3-4 weeks. Highly recommended.
FYI for those who may be interested. Have contacted
Brembo
which was ver responsive. They now have replaced the rotors for the
cayman
with a non-directional
rotor
. I inquired about the
rotor
and Low Met pads. Here is their response:
"yes, everything is just as you've written. 09.C880.11 is non-directional
rotor
, meaning left and right side have the same hole pattern.
NAO are more of a daily driver type of pads and low met are better performance and lower dust pads, I would certainly recommend those on
Porsche
cars."
Pricing is great on the new
rotor
as well.
Looks like I'll be settling for this kit

Thanks for all the advice and time guys. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the clarification as just been delivered x2
Brembos
09.c880.11 and noticed the hole pattern was the same, so was worried they were incorrect as prior to these the hole pattern went out backwards on left and right, now it seems they are like you have 1 correct and 1 which is not? Am so glad this is now correct as was worried it would cost me a fortune to send them back! Thanks for the information and I now see that
Brembo
have also posted that these are both directionally the same now!
