Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I reached out to a member on some exhaust advice. He shared that for his setup, (he's switched mufflers and subsequently to 200 cell cats) when he switched to 200 cell cats, this brought about some drone. Just wondering if those who went to 200 cell cats have found a drone issue or if it has exaggerated an existing drone issue. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

I went with 200 cell cats (Top Gear sport headers) for my stock exhaust 987.2 with absolutely no drone.

POST 3Original post

Do you have aftermarket exhaust and Is there any cel?

POST 5Original post

Fabspeed headers, 200 cell cats, and exhaust - No CEL and no Drone

POST 6Original post

Soul Performance 200 cell catted headers with Carnewal exhaust mod. No drone at all. Had the cat back for a few years before the headers. The headers got rid of all the drone the stock headers gave.

POST 7Original post

Good to hear a few more with no drone 200 cell experience.

POST 9Original post

While not Porsche; just changed to APR downpipe with 200 cats on my GTI and no drone - more power and exhaust you can hear. About a 1/3 of catback system cost.

POST 10Original post

I think the consensus is that (quality) aftermarket headers don't produce drone, only certain catback exhaust systems. I have the Soul street package and all I get is F6 music.

POST 11Original post

Can you share who you feel makes quality 200 cell headers?

POST 12Original post

I've seen vids of some of the soul stuff. Sounds really good. STill can't find a vid of Soul 200 cell on a 987.2S with stock mufflers though. Looks wise, the fabspeed 200 cell look better to my eye BUT once installed, its rather moot I guess.

POST 13Original post

Anyone have experience with carnewal 200 cell headers.

POST 14Original post

Very interesting. Youre the first I've found who says the Carnewal drones. And I completely agree. I have one and it drones as well, not sure why everyone says it doesnt. Very interested in which way the sports headers helped with your drone? One would think everything is louder, hence the drone would be as well. Is that not the case? Any and all info would help, Im thinking about getting the Soul headers , and they're pretty expensive, so I just want to be as informed as possible Thanks in advance!

POST 15Original post

Are headers really the key to avoid drone? Was offered a complete Topgear headers and valved setup for my 2010 S PDK , but passed due to reports of drone from TG users. But maybe they only had the cat back setup.
