This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Hi All I've already got some OEM 18 inch alloys that I want to put some winters on. I have to put N rated Tyres on due to the warranty. That seems to limit me to either the Pirelli W240 Sottozero Serie II or Continental Conti Winter Contact TS 810 Sport. Both are circa £540 for a set via Tyreleader. Anyone have experience of any of these? One particularly better than the other?

There is some stuff on this thread (not particularly helpful0 http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... and here http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2014-AutoBild... Pirellis come out well - but the results are very much skewed by snow performance - you might well conclude that the Contis are better for you - or the Nokias which are better in the dry. Not sure if N rating is such a big deal if you are going to change in the warm weather. I'm in the same position as you and would welcome someone analytical information.

Thanks guys. I was thinking of more the fact it might be a pain if I need some warranty work whilst still on non N winters. Like has been said I think either will be streets ahead of summers though. Cmoose, I might think about 17s actually and stick the 18s on eBay. Thanks, I'll do some maths

As long as they work well when it's cold and stop me getting stuck on the rare times it snows I'll be happy.
