Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

my car was completed on Nov 23rd and still not on the boat...
Received call from saleman today that my car is on the boat.....And I got the VIN#WP0AB29856U781425. He tried to get the boat info but was unable to. Said he would try a little later or in AM and call me back. Now is the time to get antsy for me lol. He also finished his Cayman training session and said that car is everything they say it is and then some. In comparing it to the competition, he said the MB 350SLK was the worst out of the bunch and that the C-6 was the closest competitor but still nothing like the
Cayman S
. I sure can't wait now to get the car.
For a minute I got excited reading this post, thinking that maybe today a new vessel hit the seas. With hvdcman's vin # being 81425, and knowing a vessel left on Nov. 30, I quickly realized that his car made the Nov 30 vessel. My car was finished on Nov. 30 and the vin ends in 81517, several cars after his, and among those cars that missed the Nov 30 vessel. It appears that his salesman just caught up with his status code.
I am really excited for you! Your post prompted me to call my dealer to see if I am on the boat or will have to wait for the next one. I can imagine your feeling of relief just knowing that it is on its way!
Relax and breathe deep!!
Russ
kmns,
If you are right then I am not on that baot for sure. I am waiting right now for my dealer to call me back with my code, I sure hope it has changed. I just need some progress, and that would sure help these Cayman withdrawals.
Russ
Is what your dealer is probably saying by now/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gifMy salesman is at dealer training and back shortly and I'm calling to find out if my Cayman's status has changed.
kmns;
dealer said that the car was on the boat Monday, although possibly it was earlier and was slow to tell me. He said he would get the boat info and get it to me asap so I could check it at the shipping site.
Russ,
I called my salesman on Monday and he told me my status has not changed. As I recall, my vin # showed my car was finished about 8 cars ahead of yours. Now if your dealer tells you your car is on a vessel, I will be surprised and be making an anxious call to my salesman. My guess....... We're still waiting for a boat./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/cry_smile.gif
My dealer just called me back, and guess what!! IT IS ON THE BOAT!! Code ONVESL,YAHOO!!
He said that it sailed yesterday and will arrive in San Diego on January 1st, then on to Hawaii by around the 14th. I will have the manifest and more vessel info onFriday!! OK NOW I AM GETTING EXCITED!!
I am taking the wife to Azteca for some Margaritas to celebrate!!
Aloha Russ
kmns,
On the 12th my code was still CMPPRD , it just jumped right to ONVESL and skipped the other 2 in between. I would check back with your dealer, yours should be on that same vessel.
Good Luck/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gifRuss Happy Russ now listening to Margaritaville!
Hope you guys are correct about all this.... my VIN is 81279 and dealer site only says completed 11/25 so I'm guessing mine is on the boat also. According to what has been said here, mine should be in San Diego about now if it is a 2 week boat trip and left on Nov. 30. Does this sound right? So, the big question, if it arrives at the dealer before Jan. 14 is there a chance they will release it before the official
launch
date? I figure not likely.
Karl,
All your dealer has to do is go to the Porsche dealer site and pull up your vehicle order number and he can see the code! If it says ONVESL it is on its way. You need to see that code!

Russ,
I heard from my dealer today that due to the federal emission requirement that Porshe hasn't met yet they will have to hold the cars for sale till April 1st. Your thoughts?
Patch
Patch;
I sure hope that it is not so. I don't think that I could wait THAT long to take delivery.....
On a different note, does anyone remember the thread that explains the VIN #??? I searched and went through alot of them but never found the one explaining the numbers and date built.
Patch,
I think you dealer is misinformed, but I will check into it. I have asked my dealer about the certification before and he said Porsche has everything already in place. I cannot see how they could allow such a blunder if in fact it is true. Anyway I hope K-Man chimes in on this one, I think he knows more about it than we do.
Chuck, I remember that thread with the VIN's all broken down, what it was calledI don't know.
Aloha Russ
Patch,
You are a rascal! I was ready to get my dealer the3rd degree tomorrow! Honestly I even thought it Porsche screws this up I will cancel and reorder with some different otpions that I didn't get! I was actually looking for a way to turn it into a positive.
Now back to the business of fun! Are you sure that your boat isn't on that ship?
Aloha Russ

Well, I just got back to the sit e and read all the comotion. All I can say is it is 1:30 AM and I probably won't sleep until the morning, waiting to call my salesman. If Russ's car is on a boat with such a close completion date and vin #, the only way mine would not be on is if West Coast cars went on a different vessel than East Coast and left first.
Go here to see the cargo ship schedule for upcoming arrivals to the San Diego port. There are several automobile carriers coming in that might be candidates for you Cayman.

I called my salesman this morning and the first thing he confirmed is that the cars going to San Diego do in fact go on different ships. Makes sense. He was looking at his status screen and was in the process of telling me that my car was not
yet on a vessel, when the screen suddenly refreshed and said On Vessel as of 12/15 to arrive at Brunswick Georgia on 12/24.

I am still recovering from my 180 degree mood swing. Needless to say I am delighted. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thanks.gif/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/dance.gif/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gif/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/beer2.gif
