Headlight switch is known to fail, my did earlier this year which left me with sides and fogs working but no dip - I thumped the switch/dashboard and they came on but I got the switch changed fairly soon afterwards...

Discovered last night that neither main or dip beam lights (Litronic) are working on my '01 996. Sidelights work, fog lights work, headlight flasher works. Any pointers as to the likely cause? :x

I have had intermittent issues with my litronics and it turned out to be the earth in the back of the headlight, this was a single headlight, unsure if your is both? I would suggest the switch if it both headlights?
